Official ClubHONDA Meet - Deal's Gap July 21st and 22nd 2007

I think it's time to plan out some more details for this event. figure we need at least an official Friday, Saturday, and Sunday schedule. for the people who can stay longer we'll just figure stuff out on our own. once we get together some real info I'll update the official first post so the info is easy to find.

Al is planning on the northeast peeps to arrive Friday afternoon, that could work for the official meeting up time. I'm planning on leaving thursday to get in an extra day of chillin. but if a bunch of other people from down south want to go up and can't go on thursday then I go friday.

rough start, we'll work together for more details...

Friday
starting around noon - people start to meet up (where?)
6pm - get a nice group dinner
after dinner - find something cool to do, race track, go carts, something

Saturday
morning / early afternoon - go ride the Dragon
lunchtime - group lunch somewhere cool
afternoon - ???
night - ???

Sunday
morning / early afternoon - ???
lunchtime - group lunch somewhere cool

night - ???

Sure will be a long drive from Utah to NC on my RC...I think I might have to get new tires by the time I get there......haha....

More like get up earrrrly on Saturday and drive to the dragon. 5-6 howas especially if we hit the blue ridge parkway on the way which pretty much is a must. Once we get there everyone is probably going to be pooped to go ride the dragon. Since this is pretty much the same schedule I went with last time. I would save riding the dragon till sunday unless we do get over there early on saturday. Even still I think everyone will be pretty drained. Plus it's safe to be full of energy and cars energized for the dragon. Saturday evening we could Hang out at the cabin do night runs etc etc.

EDIT* Actually now that I think of it we could do a satrday evening hangout/photoshoot at the dam. Pretty tight il place. That way sunday we can dedicate it for more dragon time

This is all proposal...Let me know what you guys think.

anyway, eric is right; a few hours on the blue ridge pkwy and you'll be pooped. where is everyone staying for the night? i'd be down for dinner and hanging out, but we need a place to sleep.

I'm going to have to figure out when people need to get back so it will better be able to plan out what we can do and how much time we have to do it. Dinner and the dragstrip sounds like a plan to me for Friday night. We do need to figure out a place to sleep...Eric?

For Saturday night at the cabins I got 10 bottles stocked up so, that's one thing to do. If anyone has any preferences on what they want, let me know now.

What about the cabins? Do we have to reserve them or do we just get there and handle that?

why don't you post what you guys did last time and we'll go from there. we also need to iron out sleeping arrangements and if we need to reserve those cabins lets do that soon.

OK here is the deal. Everything is pretty much booked side by side. I need to know A.S.A.P. our definites. I kinda have on hold two "dogwoods" . They are just across the street from each other. (when I say street I mean a lil' paved road) Each dogwood has two rooms. One with a full size bed, and another with a pair of twin beds. Full kitchen. She has none with t.v.'s though. Which is really no big deal for me since I think we'll have plenty of stuff to keep entertained. hehe.

It's $99 for each dogwood that saturday night. I plan on calling back tommorow first thing when the reservations lady gets back into work confirm those rooms with some cha-ching.

Damn, that sounds like a fun time! I live about an hour and a half .....closer to 2 hours away from the dragon... I've heard that the cops are out a lot more even on the TN side and trigger happy with writing wreckless driving tickets, so i'd be careful people! I may ride down for a day even though I know very few people on this site.

Realisticly I think drag strip Friday night will kinda be a pita. It would be SOOOO much easier to gather at the go-kart place. Plus there is a nice restaurant in there which makes for good "chillin" time. I say we hit that up, Dinner, then we can roll downtown and I can give you guys a little tour of Raleigh. See the sites, maybe stop to fill the sippy cup one time and head back for some little sleep. I believe the consensus is to get going pretty early sat. morning. It will take a little while heading out I-40. We'll stop for lunch at the best chinese buffet I ever had. I then plan on from lunch hoping on the Blue ridge parkway( I want to stop at the lookouts this time!) and ride that a couple hours and then finagle our way to fontana village. All what I just said will consume alot of the day. We can then get set-up in our cabins and different from last time i'll have my gps on my laptop set-up and we can then do a scan a find out what's around us. Last time we just went to the lil diner on site however I would like to check out something if there is anything around there. lol. We gonna be in da woooods! Depending on what time we do get there we can then head out to the dam if there is still a good amount of sunlight left.

Sunday, we'll head straight to the gap. Ride it for however long then get our Asses out of there and back into civilization.

We'd love to have you man. I just can't guarantee seeping arrangements unless you want to crash on the floor, in that case i'll just ask for 5-10 bucks to help out.

Well I'll have to find out really about the drag strip. To see if they are open. I've only gone during scheduled test-n-tunes. Detonation problems...blah...throw in some 110 octane at the track. You never posted back in the post in the boost forum. You log the car yet? I checked Fayetteville's site and they are having bracket racing on Friday night...they usually have Test and Tunes run inbetween races. If you don't want to call I will toss an e-mail over and see what the deal is with how they run the night.

LOL I have some AMAAAAAZING stories to tell from this past weekend! I will share when we get together for sure. Hint: Don't let "friends" mix margaritas! Especially after downing a 12 pack prior too mixing. hahaha The story only gets better...


OK....For friday it seems like everyone from NE is going to be getting here around noonish. Is this ok for you S. FL boys to plan on getting here? I say we can all meet at my house then since I know everyone won't be getting here at the same time. Does this sound good for everyone? From here we can do whatever until our night plans of track or go-karts come in to play.

I am figuring we should be down there between noon and 2pm unless something happens between now and then and we have to leave later.

I will throw them an e-mail in the morning. I don't think that they're there everyday that's why it's taking them so long to respond. If I don't hear anything from them I will call them during the hours of the test and tune so I know there are people there.
