1. ALTEZZAS 2. wing is just yuck 3. possible crank walk (lol al) 4. i like the front end especially with that front mount (candyman <img src="http://www.clubhonda.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif" alt="Frown" width="15" height="15">). so overall i would not buy one. i would much rather have a STi considering it does have a short throw 6 speed tranny and a host of other go fast goodies.

first off: tail lights gotta go. now aside from that......

I would most likely get the STi before I got the evo because the new one isn't nearly as good looking as the older gens. with the Evo 5 being my favorite. However, evos over the years have been known to dyno at around 320HP and run 12s stock in Japan. If this is going to be the case for the new ones here, bye bye STi.
although the looks aren't nearly is good as I would like. I do have a lot of time into working on their engines (4G63) and its not a bad engine to work on. Plus they can be modded so damn easy. So thats a plus as well.

Its a toss up for me, I'll hold off until I get ahold of the new STi information before I make any decisions.

scooby trannies suck. papa was boosting over 700hp on a stock honda tranny. but the STi tranny i assume will be much more sturdy. but we shall see because people will be modding these things left and right. so they are the basis for our opinions on quality.

true that, buying a 2.5RS and putting a turbo on it was an option if I sold my car. I neglected to pursue it because of the weak trannies in the car.

I think it's really funny that Subaru has to come out with a STi version of there WRX just to come decently close to the stock EVO VII. I am a BIG Mitsu fan and will mostly stand behind any of there cars as they are really reliable and can create mass amounts of power with basic bolt-on's. The tranny's in the DSM's arent the best and don't like to be power shifted that much. Other than that crankwalk is the only other thing, but after 70K miles on the engine if it hasn't crankwalked yet... it 99% won't! I do like the WRX, but i just think that there whole "rally inspired" **** is total BS! My moms chrysler minivan is more "rally inspired" than that goddamn WRX. That was a joke... but i am kind of serious about that..... <img src="http://www.clubhonda.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif" alt="Eek" width="15" height="15">

I would love to see Mitsu come out with a sti like version for the EVO VII.... that would just end everything about the whole WRX vs. EVO VII debate. END OF STORY! Im not downing Subaru at all... or atleast not trying to... i just know for a fact that Mitsu isn't trying to produce a crazy version of the EVO VII... mainly because they don't have to. hate to see if Mitsu got serious about the 4G63 engine. I have a 4G63 engine that will most likely be running somewhere around 320 + hp at the crank. and i haven't even opened the engine yet. just bolt ons! so that will give you a good indication of the power potential of these engines!

Hey man, I think its great that you like only Hondas so much. The world needs more devoted fans. I'm sick of seeing wishywashy people that go from one brand to another just because something better came out. I like Honda and Mitsubishi just because I've owned and loved both, and I think both make some great cars. I think Honda has made way more great models than Mitsubishi, (CRX, Integ, Civic, S2000) but the few good cars Mitsubishi has made, (DSM's, EVO, Starion) I think are great too.

sure im devoted but im not some ricer that just says honda owns with out having valid reasons to back it up. i like and respect other companies. for instance mazda, i think the rotary is just a wow engine. mitsubishi, 4g63 is potent and strong. toyota, 2jz is just amazing. subaru, **** em they have bad trannies. i like some domestics too, dont feel like listin em but they do include cadillac i.e. escalade.

actually now that ive read some info/reviews/comparisons on thease two cars i can safetly break out my magizine racer skills <img src="http://www.clubhonda.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15">

basicaly it boils down to this

STI:

-not as much dealer mark up, easier to get a hold of one if you really want it(or so ive been told)

-overall more powerfull, and the tranny argument isnt vaild because this tranny is totaly diffrent than the one one the 2.5 RS and WRX. suposedly it can hold up to 600hp, more than enough to get the job done, so that shouldnt be an issue.

-neat little features like an adjustable diff and a shift light you can set.

EVO:

quicker steering ratio(13:0:1 vs the STI's 15:2:1)
outhandels the STI, more of a drivers car

its a precision machine that performs extreamly well at its limits.

and (to me) betterlooking, but thats just a matter of opionion really

so if i had to chose id take the EVO, but hey thats me and i only say that because SCC tells me so <img src="http://www.clubhonda.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif" alt="Razz" width="15" height="15">

well, that and i prefer a good handeling car over one that can only go in a straight line, a far depature from my origional muscle car lovin roots <img src="http://www.clubhonda.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" width="15" height="15">
