This is not a race team but was a few members of s2ki.com from the central Texas area. Mine is the white on the far right. The pic was taken at our event in, I think, September of 2001.

All of the S2000's in the picture were at the track to run. Some were newbies to the track scene (me) and some had been there many times before. Albiet with other cars.

There were four run groups based on driver experience and skill. For myself, this was my first time taking laps being the driver so I was positioned in the lowest run group and had an instructor showing me the right lines. I was pleased because after the first two runs I was never passed and lapped a few Z3's, MR2's, some Vette's. No flames on this one because especially for beginners it has much more to do with how quick you learn your car than it does with the cars performance.

My second time out this past March 1st was a different experience. I moved up one group on day one and did well enough to be moved up to another group on my last two sessions. While I was being passed left and right by many vehicles I did manage to stay on the bumber of a few cars but was never able to pass anyone. <img src="http://www.clubhonda.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif" alt="Frown" width="15" height="15"> Oh well. It was all fun.

yeah, at a track with turns, it's the driver as much as the car. and vettes are heavy, not to mention a little easier to spin.

when my buddy was racing motorcycles professionally, he would go to open track events in his cbr600 and start lapping newbies on 1000's since he knew the lines and how to really ride.

I know from the S2000 I drove, your brakes are a huge advantage stock vs stock, glad I had my seatbelt on when I got on them the first time <img src="http://www.clubhonda.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15">

So do I. I was elated that the guys at Spoon opened up there shop for me and my two friends to take a gander at some of their work. After my friend finished talking with Spoon's owner we headed down stairs to the garage and were peaking through the glass were two mechanics whom at that time were busy with a new CTR let us in. They walked us over to the corner where the S2000 stood and let us go through the car and ask any questions we had. It was quite dirty though. Looked like after a race they parked it in the back corner. All in all it was a fun trip to Japan where this was just a small portion of the trip. The highway racing scene and drifting area were bad a$$.
