The sickest BMW I've ever seen.

I was at my boyfriend's shop tonight and there's an M-coupe with a bodykit and 19" offset wheels having a DVD player and system installed.. looks fast...

I take a look inside and besides a custom interior w/ AC Schnizer everything... there's a boost gauge <img src="http://www.clubhonda.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="Confused" width="15" height="22"><!--graemlin::confused:-->.. so of course I had to ask the guy if he'll pop the hood... I had to see this, especially because he's got stickers on the car from another local shop I've done marketing for in the past..

Turns out he's running a Stage 2 Vortech Supercharger on the M-engine.. I stood there in awe.. and after chatting for a little I find out he dynoed the beast and it turned up 420hp <img src="http://www.clubhonda.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif" alt="Eek" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::eek:-->!!!

Insane...

maybe thats what he calls a smaller pulley or something. either way a 420 hp m3 owns everything... was it an e36 or e46?

Honestly, I'm just repeating what the guy told me about his car.. I don't know that much about superchargers, so I wouldn't be able to tell the difference by looking at it.

But there was a pulley/belt and it said Vortech, so I do know it was a supercharger.. lol!!

I wouldn't doubt they come in stages like turbos do .. I dunno..

I also didn't realize the M-Coupe had two engine sizes... Is that the difference between the M3 & M5??

It was the same engine as the 2000 M3, if that answers your question...

m coupe is a m3 motor. m5 is a dual cam 8 cylinder.

oh sorry, e36 is the chassis code for the older m3 1995-99, e46 is the newer ones 01+. the e36 comes stock with 240 hp, the e46 320 or so. i think its a stage 2 dinan kit, with more boost, and comes with more parts, like low compression pistons, etc. dinan stag 1 is good for 340hp on the e36, so stage 2 at 420 to the wheels seems right. that is still a crazy car... damn i wish i had the money for that.

no i dinan is an aftermarket company that specializes in bmw's. all m3's (except for the older e30's and the 95 m3) have 3.2l straight 6 engines. they dont come factory turbo or supercharged. i was saying about the supercharger kit that stage 2 incorpirates parts to let you run more boost than a stock engine can handle, like low compression pistons and such.

oh and theres no such thing as a 2000 m3, the only m3's sold in 2000 were leftover convertables from 99

first off, no M engines were ever boosted from the factory.

secondly M3s are straight 6s and M5s are 8s

third, I don't think there are any stage blowers for M3s.

forth, he should have went to activeautowerkes and bought one of their kits. Same quality, what I feel is more passion for M tuning and Motorsports. And much better prices

fifth, E36s are 95-99 and E46s are after that. I am not sure if there isn't a 00 E46 or not, I think handsls-something is correct though. Those models sold in 00 may be left over 99 E36s.

sixth, AC Schnizter and Dinan are really overpriced for what you get, www.activeautowerkes.com (http://www.activeautowerkes.com) is where its at for M performance.

seventh, was this an E36 or E46 or even better. Which would be the ultimate M3, an E30 with an E36 euro motor swap that put out around 333 HP stock.

eigth, 420 HP isn't that bad, but I really think he limited his options with a blower. He should have run a euro motor and a turbo if he really wanted numbers. Thats the 500+ range right there without any problems.

nineth, this is rotary and I am just too damn lazy to change it back to my account on Tims computer.

yo mah aunt just bought an M-3 with the factory silver 19"s and i drove it once, and da car is hot az fvck....i mean i took off from the last light before you hit da ramp to hit da interstate,, and dat baby GETZ DOWN..i burned out so fast that i seriously got scared,,,the car started to shift left on me...go thing i didn't speed shift into second.....moral of this story THE CAR IS PIMP
