well they dip 12s stock, you said she got the optional 19s thats superb, not many do. But their straight-line isn't their best asset, that is their handling and overall performance. M cars, especially E36s and E46s M3s handling is insane. The E36 I rode in shocked me with its handling abilities. Many say the E46 isn't as pure handling car like the E36 but I haven't ridden in one so I can't comment. Although the most track oriented M is probably the E30 M3.
As for the M, glad to hear she got a 6 speed and not the SMG version. The SMG is tight (shifts faster than Ferrari's paddleshift) but I'll prefer the manual because thats driving. Don't get the same experiance with paddle shifting. Its true dual exhaust, not just dual running out the back. Its not really a kit, just M3s have more aggresive body moldings than the other 3 series. ride height is like that on the 330s as well.
But most importantly, enjoy the car, you really have no idea what you have access to.

Here they come with 343 hp, 10 more but I see that in the US they cost about $47000 or so, but here they cost 77000 euros. That is a big difference. I quoted the info on this car from the website here. It is in dutch but some of the technical info can be understood.... the numbers at leats. Check out the price on them all the way at the end! Its a big difference compared to the US and it doesnt necesarily mean that they are cheaper in Germany or Europe as a whole!

incredible......phenominal......
thats basically what comes to mind. You really don't know how good it actually is untill your in the car and its pushed to its limits. It really is that much of a step above almost anything else. It feels as though there is a magnet under the car holding to to the rode.

yep, its a straight six--- i dont think bmw makes a v6.
ive never ridden in an e46 m car before. but the e46 i have driven are superb when it comes to handling. much better feel of the road and better cornering abilities than the e36.
try driving an e46 then getting in a honda... not a good feeling! lol
amateurs dont use nitrous oxide, ive seen the way you drive

I've heard from a bunch of sources that the E36 is an all around more pure handling sports car than the E46. Have you driven both to compare, if so I would like to hear your run down between the cars.

yessir, ive driven both.
only problem im my comparison is that its been about 4 years since I've driven an e36.
i just loved hugging turns in the e46. drove like a dream. maybe there are technical reasons why the e36 is preferable handling wise, but the e46 is fresh in my mind.
what do you mean run down between both?

thats tight, I've ridden in my good friends cousin's 98 M3 on our trip down to the F1 event in Indy this year and we put the M through its passes. And I must say I was extremely impressed. Although I haven't had the opportunity to ride in or drive an E46 so I don't have any means of comparison.
What I meant by giving the run down on both is how they compare to each other in the handling aspects. I know the differences in acceleration so that doesn't need to be discussed.
