I was looking to get a 1000RR this year but the colors are disappointing. The black is nice but it needs something to define it a little. The silver well what can I say about silver, everything you see these days is silver, getting old.
This is the one I was looking to get...
http://www.mcnews.com.au/NewBikeCatalogue/2004/Honda/Fireblade/Gallery_First/images/RHF_Tricolour_700p.jpg
But as my luck has it, it's not coming here. I'm going to look into getting it imported and see how much that will run. If it runs too much, then I might just wait another year and see what happens. If I get to antsy and have to get one, i'll probably just get any color and take it right to the body shop to have it painted.

they can deck it out with all the colours they want. its still a boring piece of **** to ride on the street. if u are at all into doing tricks do not buy this bike. go with an r6, youll be much happier. the only way, the 600rr is any good. is if u plan to do nothing but race this bike on the track.

This has got to be the most idiotic statement ever. The CBR 600RR is a piece of sh!t because of it's lack of "trickability"? Are you fu*king kidding me? Do you think that "trickability" was in the design process when these manufacturers were building these motorcycles? I think not.

lol, the R6? it's slower, any 600 is more of a pain to do tricks, you have to drop the clutch to pop it up as opposed to just flooring it with a bigger bike. the cbr 954 and 1000 weigh the same as the r6, so you can't say it's nimbler, not to mention every last person I know who's gotten a smaller bike ends up upgrading to a bigger bike and wasting all kinds of money buing two bikes.

well thats the reason most people buy a crotch rocket. is to stunt with em. obviously thats not what they are engineered for. which is why i said that if u r gonna ride this bike on the track its an awesome bike. but unfortunately, since 99% of people who buy bikes like this never really ride them on the track, you might as well get a bike that is more comfortable, more agile, and more fun to ride. like the R6. the smaller distance between the tires makes it a nicer bike to handle. and it has as much hp as the 600rr. u can say what u want. but ive ridden both bikes. and the R6 is a much nicer bike by far.

slower?? i think not. the r6 has the same power as the honda. and because of its nicer handling it runs better lap times than the honda as well. popping the clutch to pull up the front end, well wrong again. the R6 can pull the front up in 3rd gear with no clutch. its the only 600 ive ever seen that can accomplish this. obviously it doesnt have the power of 1000s. but it is definately the next best bike. it was even rated as like the #5 best bike of the year. the only thing that beat it was a few 1000s.

No, he was compairing the 600's.
The R6 is in no way compareable to the handeling of the 600RR. They have made some improvements on the R6 since it's introdution but it still needs work. They also never did do anything about the harsh power transfer either but that's another issue.

ummmmmm, my 954 had 139 to the wheel, the mags are saying the new 1000rr is gonna have more power than the current gsxr1000 which has 148hp to the rear wheel, so figure they're saying the new 1000 will have 150 to the wheel. the current R6 only has 102hp to the rear wheel, like most current 600's, and only 44 torque.
figure torque is what makes it easier to lift the front, so again, it's not faster and it's definately not easier to stunt, with that little torque you have to really pop the clutch and or rev it out to do power tricks.
R6 - 11.838sec 117.405mph

Torque 44.6 ft.lbs.@10,900rpm

since the 1000rr ain't out yet, but we'll all assume that it's faster than the 954, here's the "slower" stats of the 954...
dyno 130hp and 68 torque, mine had a chip and exhaust and dyno'd 138.9hp to the wheel. and the same dyno has the gsx1000 at 147.5hp and 78 torque, that's what the new 1000rr is supposed to out power.

have you ridden either bike?? what makes u think that the handeling on both bikes is in no way comparable?? just because honda came out with the new swingarm that absorbs torque or whatever it does. this does not help at all as far as handeling. it simply keeps the front tire on the ground. which is the main reason i dont like this bike to begin with. in just about every magazine the r6 has ran a quicker lap time than the honda. so regardless of the specs, that i would say is the true tell all. but lap times is beside the point. the main point i was making is that the r6 is a funner bike for the street. it walks much easier. and it is balanced very well. but i will give ya the power transfer. the r6 has a really rough shift unless u rev it to at least 12000.

not sure what all this 1000 stuff has to do with anything, since we are comparing 600s. we all know that a 1000 will own any 600. anyway, back to the whole point here.
i would say all those stats on 600s are virtually useless. every magazine has different #s. some rate the dyno #s for 600rr better and some rate the r6 better. so i would guess that they are prety damn close. now what a lot of people dont seem to understand or know about. is that even if the 600rr had 20 more horse. the bike would still not walk as well as the r6. it has a new swingarm, that is designed to drop as soon as the throttle is cracked. this makes the 600rr virtually impossible to walk unless u pop the clutch. but the r6, can walk without clutch all the way from first to third. like i said before. there is no other 600 ive seen that can do this. and if anyone doesnt believe me. you r quite welcome to come to fort mcmurray next summer and watch me do it. i will have some video next summer, so maybe ill post that then. regardless of what some of u may think, im not playin up this bike just because i own one. i bought it because it is so great. personally i dont care what u buy. i was simply trying to help u make an educated decision. if u r into tricks u will not like the 600rr. hell, even the kawasaki 636 would be better. but the best one i have riden is the r6.

Yes I have rode both bikes and the 600RR is by far more superior in the handeling department. The RR is much more stable at speed and it needs to be driven rather than ridden. The whole time I rode the R6 I always needed to make corrections as I was always overdriving it. It felt more like, hey hold on we're gonna for a ride than rather it telling me, hey take me for a ride. Going around corners at speed makes me feel unsure (which is not good) as it's so loose. Accelerating out of the corners brings up more uncertainty as the power transfer is harsh, even with small throttle inputs it feels the bike will come out from underneath you.
When I ride the RR I don't experience any of that. I never find myself always having to correct myself, in the corners it feels planted on the ground and adding throttle in a corner doesn't give you any hint that it feels like it's going to come out from under you but more like "is that all you got?"
That is the exact feeling that you need to get from your bike and the R6 doesn't give that to me.

well, i guess its a matter of preference. to each his own right. whoever was talking about buying a bike in the first place, i would suggest trying to find friends that will let you try their bikes. try as many diff 600s as u can, and base your decision on what u felt most comfortable on. i know i am definately not dissapointed with the r6.
