Who here is a fan of Triumph Bikes? I'm gonna be buying a bike in about a year, and I've been looking around on the net at some Honda's, Suzuki's, And my dad had mentioned Triumph...They're fairly hot I think, but when put up against something like an interceptor, 919, or A Suzuki SV102 or something along those lines, how would it preform? Better or worse?

never as fast. they've never been known fot their speed. what they do lack in speed, they make up for in handling and character. the new ones are supposed o be real nice, and classy to boot. thats something you dont find on a lot of bikes these days.

the jap bikes perform the best generaly, but like mike said triumphs have more character, its kinda like Ducati or harley davision. personaly i like the buell bikes a lot, those might be worth cheacking out as well...

the jap bikes are really the best bang for your buck though, they perform and handel very well, are farily inexpensive compared to other bikes, and have realtivly low maintaince/running costs. if i was going to get a bike id prob look for a suzuki, yammah, honda, or kawaski...but thats just me, get whatever makes you happy

You'd get a bike for a grad gift?! Shiza, I should ask for one!

I'll look into the Buellones out...and I think that jap's would probably suit my needs better, but the triumph's still a bit of a possibility!

ya one thing though about the croch rockets, they are generly preaty expensive to insure, so if your leaning towards a cruiser or standard thats prob not a bad idea. less tempting to push to its limits too and a more comfortable ride...but then again nothing beats the fun factor of a croch rocket

just curious how much riding experiance do you have?

I've got to say, those buells were daaaaaaaaamn sexy

I've got ZERO riding experience, so I'd also be learning on this bike....but I don't want to buy a seperate bike for learning, then once getting the hang of it start wanting another better one...I'd rather get the better bike the first time and take my time learning

Does that make any sense?

thats a bad idea, your much better off learning on a smaller bike first, geting your riding skills up, and then geting a bigger bike. you can pick up something like a ninja 250 or yammah seca II for real cheap used(were talking 2-3k). learn on it for a season or two, or however long it takes you to feel really confident, then sell it(you will prob get about what you payed for it if you buy used, bikes depreciate to a certin point and generaly stay there) and get what you really want. if you insist on geting a buell as your first bike get somthing like the buell blast, the lightning is around 900ccs and the fireball is 1200, thats too much bike for a new rider with no experiance. also cheack out the ducati monster 600. i really recomend that you dont buy new though, new bikes are expensive toys, its not cheap to insure one and its def not cheap to repair it if you end up droping it. if your really serious about geting a bike do some homework beforehand. def make sure you take an MSF course, dont skimp on the protective gear, that means a full faced helmet, gloves, boots, and somesort of body covering, full leather is the best because its the most abrasive resitant, but the other ones are a bit cooler on those hot days so its up to you. def cheack out this site though, lots of good advice and recomendations.....
