shorts are pretty much a no-no on any bike, unless you have no use for your legs...
I have known 3 guys who crashed on their bikes. 2 were wearing the right stuff and walked away from them. The 3rd guy... he had road rash on 65% of his body. Not a good thing!

get those "convertible" wind breaker pants. wear em as pants, get off the bike, and zip em into shorts and store em in your mini trunk.

that's what I was doing, that works best. jeans aren't really that bad, when I was moving I was fine, and at night I got cold so the jeans were nice. but during the day at a light with the heat index over 105, the jeans got old quick.
