well the reason i joined was cuz i was looking at this car. i needed something else to drive, so that i could do major, or minor stuff to my celica... anyways... i bought this yesterday.. it's pretty sweet. pretty fast too.. anyways.. it has all the goodies.... swapped engine (DOHC ZC) intake, exhaust, lightened flywheel, racing clutch, and yes nitrous oxide. i myself will prolly never use that.. but you know, it's there if i wanted to...

well the civic is gonna be a daily driver... i think it'll be cool to have a decently quick car as a daily driver.... but oh well. if you buy a civic buy a 92 and up... i've been looking all over the net and the 4th gen civic hatchs' have like little aftermarket.. kinda sux, but oh well...

an IROC Z is a specail edition of the Z28 camaros made in the 80s IROC stands for International Race Of Champions....i cant rember but i think it had a 5.7liter V8 in it(vette engine) its simalar to the formula firebirds or SS camaros...cool car, fun to have, unforchnetly most of em were autos...do a web search if you wanna learn more but hopefuly that answers your question for the time being.. ;)

im not rich. i am ignorant. you are right, i dont know much about honda, but im trying to learn. next time i post i wont be so ignorant. sorry. my dad did want me to get a big muscle american car, but i dont like them very much because they weigh so much, and i have always wondered how honda made a lil' 4 banger engine go so fast. i didnt know that NA cars couldnt have intercoolers, im just trying to learn more. so stop getting angry. i didnt mean to upset or offend any one. if i did, then i am sorry. i guess i am lucky to have a car like the s2000. i dont deserve it, i know, so i am going to trade it in, and get my money back, and then look for a car i more deserve.

Because only cars with forced induction need intercoolers. The reason for intercoolers, if you didn't know, is to cool of the turbo housing. Why you might ask, in order for the turbo to "spool" the turbine must be turned by the HOT exhaust gases. This causes the turbine housing to get HOT, and thus causing the incoming air on the intake side of the turbo to also get hot. Hot air is not good, so the intercooler then cools the turbine housing and in turn cools the in coming air charge. Well just thought I'd point that out. HAVE A NICE DAY!!

Allright Timmah if your such a car specialist why don't you explain why Sulfur/Oxide, or Nitrous with sulfur mixed in, makes your car have more horse power? Or why they mix sulfur in with Nitrouse when you buy it? Or how a internal combustion engine works? If you can answer all that without having to look it up then maybe you know a little about cars! cool :cool: i hear what your saying man, theres wayy too many rice boyz around thease days, i think we can all thank the fast and the furious for that :rolleyes: theres a couple guys that live across the street from me who have riced out cars, big aluminum wing, 5% tint on the windows(windshield too!!) improperly cut springs(ie it bounces down the road and lurches forward too much when he stops!) and a big fart cannon :( god i hate those things, dont get me wrong now imports can sound preaty nice if theres an actual exaust system there, a guy i work with has a cat back on his integra, the thing sounds bichen, but this guy across the street from me just has a big nasty muffler, not to mention altezas :( i dunno call me crazy, but i think people should actually try and know somthing about cars before they start modifing them with tastless aftermarket junk, damn rice boyz :rolleyes:

p.S> btw rice comes in many forms, i have seen pleanty of domestice rice out there as well as some exotics, its all very disturbing :(

Most of the mods you listed are ones I'm hitting the WRX up with : rear spoiler, 18" white rims, tint, system, headlight conversion, and the rear light altezzas for Scoobie are pretty hot!! Don't dis the style completely!!

Though some of that stuff may be 'cheap' aftermarket stuff I think the real part of any car is the performance upgrades...

And with those PROPERLY covered I don't think personal style matters on the track.. either you're there or you're not. My opinion is that if you're going to look fast BE FAST or get outta my way!

Word of advice though: just don't jump to conclusions when you see a 'riced out' looking car and point fingers.. check under the hood ;) before name-calling!!

Umm PocketRocket you should do some more research yourself.An intercooler's job is to cool the charge air from the turbo, which is not heated by the hot turbine housing as you think but by the act of actually compressing the air itself, the more you compress it(build boost) the hotter it becomes,simple physics, want proof of that?? find a friend who has a high compression engine remove a spark plug from a cylinder(do this on a cold engine so as not to think that your feeling the hot air from it being run) remove the coil wire so it will not start and put your finger over the spark plug hole and have him crank the engine. You will find that the air is heated.A turbocharger does the same thing to the air.A good intercooler can drop charge air temp by half(from about as high 250-270 degrees to about 150 there about)this is the reason you make more power with them as charge air temp drops its density increases which puts more air in the cylinder,and also reduces the chance of detonation to occur before we light the air/fuel mixture.I have missed some of the finer points about what i have posted here,but I would post an in depthreply if someone wanted it. Also to answer the other question sulfur is mixed with nitrous oxide to prevent you from sniffing it, if no sulfur were present it would be considered a controlled dangerous substance, the same stuff your dentists uses when he needs to put you under.As for what you were saying you are correct in not want ing to scare people off from starting in this sport, but we need to educate people on the correct ways of how things work why they work and how to make them useful in their application,hope all this helps
