View Full Version : how about a summer meet on the east coast

ROTARYFDTT
01-10-2003, 08:43 PM
we were doing some thinking about a potential meet on the east coast somewhere during the summer for the members that are in the region. Wreckless and I were thinking about perhaps somewhere in the middle/eastern side of Pennsylvania as a place to meet. Thats about 6-8ish hours for us in Michigan to get there. So its kinda central, however Penn. has some of the best back country roads around. Hence the reason for suggesting it as a potential meeting spot. So we could have some definate fun crusing through there. Anyway its just a thought, imput on this would be great.

i'm down with that. central PA is off the ****in hook! those roads are awesome, even at the speed limit..... the views are great, and the traffic is LIGHT. i've got a buddy who may be able to help out with "guided tours". the dream cruise would be cool as well, and after we could follow rich's cue and go to that kart track, and see who has the skills to pay the bills. okay that was corny, sorry

oh dude. i am so there. i think i know the indoor track wreckless is refering to. i've drove past like seven times but never stopped in. a friend of mine said it's off the chain. they give you race hemets and all that crap. full suit i think, too. he said the karts are krazy fast. PA would be fun too. i was through there once with my family on a summer vacation to SC. but that was years ago, and i didn't get to drive

I always down for hitting the dirt. However I don't have a car to do it in (other than the GC which I won't be bringing LOL) so its gonna have to be in wreckless's ride.

Hey I live in MD... I'm down for a meet, maybe I can drag some of the peeps from my site over. PA's sporatically good, some roads are really good, others are undrivable for cars like mine, and my car won't see dirt roads... sorry fellas. PHAT, I don't know how I ever missed that. I usually drive right past there on the highway to get to NJ and back again over the summer.

that would work for us MI guys, but its gonna make everyone else drive pretty far. Its probably around 5 hours for us seeing as its right at the Ohio PA border. I was at first hoping it was in Beaver Falls, that would be PIMP, but something in the central area of the state would probably be best. But I would definately be down for pulling a track event there.

its a brand new track, car and driver used it for a test a couple months back, thats how i found out about it. its quite a haul for me, something like 8 hours, and idk if i could get the time or money to do it, but i thought id throw it out there as an option. it would be awesome to just have a whole bunch of ch members bombing around the track all day. if anyone knows anything like this closer to the coast, it would be easier to get to for all us coast dwellers

If ya'll decide to go anywhere near a beach I'll be there! Why don't we all go somewhere like that! Like a vacation..yes yes... we could all stay in same hotel and just hang out together, doesn't have to be a track as long as theres sand and sun!

Heck yeah I'd go for that. I need to take a couple weeks of vacation anyway, and I could fly anywhere. Only if it was a beach party though!

Beach VS track??!

#1 Asphault gives you a better tan
#2 Hot guys w/ hot cars
#3 RACING..

AND FYI, E-town is very close to the Jersey Shore!! So you can have the best of both worlds... Track one day, beach the next!!

The PA idea sounds great!! Not too far from here either and the roads are beautiful...

this is supposed to be a car meet not a swimming meet. Don't get me wrong I love the ocean and I wouldn't mind hitting up LBI. But I wanna do some laps not swim some laps.
