probably getting himself completely ready for the run, wanted to go when he was ready to ensure the best time. They don't start the actual timing until you leave the line. You could wait there half a day and still run the same time if you had .64303034394384348059845944 reaction time.

The funny thing is, this car is running on low low low boost and is running with a ****ed up gear box, and he was spinning all the way down the track! The car is a true monster!
He will be turning up boost, using an air shifted gear box, and better slicks next run. He will dominate

ummmmm no I highly doubt that dude, it would take him running high boost and not a ****ed up tranny to get that car into the 8s. Didn't look like he was spinning all the way down the track AT ALL. When your running that HP cars tend to get sidways like that when shifting, high HP Supras do that going into 4th on the track. And didn't seem like he was having any difficulties either with his tranny.

Its gonna need high boost HP to get into the 8s, think about what power it takes Supras to pull the same times, and they weight less......

Actually Mr.newbie is right, if you read up on the site www.exvitermini.com (http://www.exvitermini.com) it explains it all
Now thats not to say the car isnt makin insane amounts of power, but that car was built to handle I believe something like 3.25 or 3.5 bars and rev to some 10-11k , so you figure there low boost was still around the 30 psi mark, which is a hella lot of boost. They said they were having difficulties with the tranny ,but I belive it was in the launching gears(first and second) so that would inhibit your 60's drastically, even if it's by a tenth or two, thats enought to make a big impact at those speeds,as I'm sure you know. But anywayz yes the car was not at it's full potential on that movie....That car has the capabilitels to run deep into the 7's as that is what it was built for.

do run in the deep 7s it has to put down a ridiculously high amount of HP. We are talking in access of 1400RWHP and I am most likely downsizeing the numbers. That Skyline is un-tubbed if I remember correctly. Does anyone understand what it takes to get an un-tubbed car into those times here, I mean seriously COME ON PEOPLE. I've seen the dyno for that Skyline, and I've been on that site for awhile now. Bottom line is, saying that was run on low boost absolutely DOES NOT add up considering the boost needed to make power on such large turbos. If you look at physics here, am I the only one who realizes the amount of HP were talking to here to drop a car like that into the 8s and trapping at that speed? Come on guys, he was running a good amount of boost and HP to hit those times. Take for example MVP Motorsports Supra built by Powerhouse Racing. It dynoes around 1400 RWHP and weights less than that Skyline I am willing to bet and runs around mid 8s. Now take that information and put it to use with the Skyline that weights more.......you can't say my logic is flawed because its not when looking at the phyics involved and the amount of HP I know it takes given the power outputs being VERY similar of each cars and their weights. And dude what your telling me isn't anythnig new about high HP Skylines, their all built to those specs. ALso running the boost numbers you stated that adds up to around 50psi, which is just insane and I question. Because their aren't many turbos that can hold up to that let alone be in their efficeny range.....which is also huge when you say "low boost". If your at low boost your out of the turbos efficienty range and your not going to make much power. But if typical boost setting are around 30psi which isn't uncommon thats still putting down a ****-load of power. All I have to say is that engine has to be built to hell along with everything else in that car, along with the turbo to be running around 50psi, thats discusting. I'd go check out the site again but I am going grab some dinner. Go check out the video of the Mines Skyline on racingflix.com if you like Skylines.

Ok first off ,you have me a lil confused by something you said, what does it matter if the car is un-tubbed???? he has the wheel clearance needed for the slick he needs to run,why would he tub it,he is already fitting 28 x 10 slicks on there, and are working for 28 x 11's, it's not liek a Supra where you need some crazy 32 x 15 slick or something,so I'm assuming you meant that the car was still a stock chassis car, with only that 8 point cage in it.If thats what you meant I agree with you,I would think you would need at least a 3\4 chassis car for running those speeds, for all the chassis rigidity, and placements for suspension components and what not,not to meantion the safety of it. But I guess Australians dont car about that..LOL
Now I was wrong when I stated it was only like a third of his power,it IS though only 2\3 of the max power capable, and now I'm sure it's makin more sense for you. Also when I said the 3.5 bar statement,I was just exagerrating and being sarcastic, but I guess you cant tell on the net.The car though in reality I belive is made to be at like 3 bar at max boost though,I know its been tuned at 2.75 bar,but I thought max boost was more.I beliefve that the car made over 850 to all 4 wheels,at like 2.25 bar,and I belive thats what it ran those numbers with. And those numbers arent exactly it's best times, that was the first and only time they ran the car(besides it's shakedown passes),so you have to leave room for driver comfort, and knowledge of the car, plus suspension tuning, and all the other things that come into play. AND.....the tranny they were using supposedly was unloaidng the suspension between shifts, which would give the wheel spin down the track. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT, neither of us were there, and we both only saw the video,so neither of us really knows what happens. I belive that car has the capability to make the HP needed to dip into the 7's,but I will agree that the suspension would be a BIG part in getting there.

ROTARYFDTT, you must understand, supras are different from skylines, as are skylines from supras.
Its pretty common to see supras rolling on the streets with 900 hp and still run 11's. However, you put 500 hp in a civic and your looking at 9's. Each car has its own way of utilizeing the power given.

I am just using the weight and HP of the MVP Motorsports cars as an example
The reason for 900 HP Supras running 11s is because they aren't driven properly, we all know that. Look at SW, he ran an 9.8 on stock bottom end 6 speed Supra and trapped around 153. Not to mention Peter Blanch aka HoustanT whose stock short block went 938RWHP at T2K3 and he said it was down from him nailing 955RWHP before. The power is there, they just can't put in to the track.

I belive that car has the capability to make the HP needed to dip into the 7's,but I will agree that the suspension would be a BIG part in getting there.

yeah I should have rephrased, I meant to say stock chassis, and yeah Australians are nuts, been saying it for some time now. My favorite right now is cutting out a section of the entire front bumper/fasia of the cars to mount the gigantic front mounts they run.
OK I can buy that, I just didn't believe the whole LOW LOW boost thing, nothing would add up if that was the case.
And about the tranny thing, that is interesting, I know it was getting wheel spin at first but I couldn't hear nor really see anymore wheel spin down the track. I know it was moving around but thats typical of high HP cars.
What I wanna know if how many drivetrains they've been through in that car LOL.
ALso was that pass done on AWD or just run power through the rear wheels?

I belive it was done in AWD, but with small slicks, and of course the LOW boost , and they said they took two extra "donor" cars and a bunch of spare driveshafts Just In Case....
And as far as cuttin out the whole bumper for the Intercooler,Whats the point in having it if you aint gonna show it....LOL
