View Full Version : CRV-TEC vs. GSR
I witnessed a very Odd thing the other day. I saw two hatches; 1 with b20b (vtec) and the other with a b18c; go at it from about 60mph. The strange part comes into play here: if the b20 has so much more torque than the GSR then why did the GSR stay right with him the whole time? They are both good friends of mine so i know the cars, they are naturally aspirated and they both have the same amt done to the engine. But the b20 didn't impress me that much. What's all the hype about?

hummm, those are two pretty similar setups, did they have the same tranny's? just thinking the gearing might be different. also, the B20 VTEC is gonna end up with a lower compression, so it's really only got a little more torque, so if they're allready going 60, the torque isn't as big an advantage.

has the CRVtec done a dyno?
what mods do they both have?
just doing CRVtec had put down as much as 242. compared to the GSR 180

The b20 has a GSR tranny with an obd1 distr. and dc type r 4-1 headers. The GSR has LSD and Vtec at 5,500, with 4-1 headers also. However the b20 rocks the catylinic converter and the GSR doesn't have one. Either way, the b20 can get GSR off the line but around 70mph the GSR blasts on him by at least 2 cars. :D Maybee his cams were swapped out before he did his swap?
