OK, Here's the deal.
My civic's motor is dead, (92civic HB). I found a 94 honda accord totled (from the back) w/ a perfect motor for cheap. the cord is a 4 cylinder 5 spd. Would it be possible to swap the accords motor and trans in to my civic ?
thanx

I'm guessing it would be similar to a H22A swap. you would have to convert to a cable shift linkage, and it would have similar engine mounts and axle setup.
I know it'll work, saw a guy on another site who said he had the SOHC VTEC accord swap. if the accord you're getting the motor from is VTEC it's actually a good swap, 155hp and 155torque.

Yes it will work, you will have to spend a couple hundred buck for the install kit, but that would be a pretty nice swap in my opinion :D

it will work and im sure that its way less expensive than a b16 or b18, so go for it and keep us updated.

Well, I hate to tell you this, but the reason there are so many cheap Accord I-4's laying around is because they stink. A F22 is going to give you about the same amount of power as a stock D16 EX motor, with about 185 extra pounds under the hood. If you're going to go this route, get a H22A. They'll run circles around a F22 [that's why they swap H22's into Accords] and the swap kit for your CiViC is identical. Check eBay for the best price[s] on a H22A...

Bright red is F22 hp, dark red is F22 torque.
Bright blue is H22A hp, dark blue is H22A torque.

I would aggree on the F22 non-vtec being not too much better than a EX motor swap. but the VTEC F22 has 155hp and 155 torque, so it's 5hp less than the B16A but with 45 more torque. (and everyone will aggree that the B16A is a good swap) so I still think the VTEC F22 is a good swap, but it's not worth it for the non-vtec 135hp F22.

I might have been a little off on the hp, I know the hp and torque on the newer F23 VTEC motor is in the 150-155 range.

i believe in 94 sohc vtec accords, the engine had a rating of 145 horses. i'd recommend the b16 or b18 swap. but if you're short on money and the accord engine is all you can get, then do it. it's still better than a dead engine.

For the guy who said that we see so many accords laying because there weak. I have news, my stock 90 honda accord lx ran a 15.74 at the track and smokes most civics like a pack of camals. so if there so weak how come only civics with extreme engine mods and turbos can keep up?

There is absolutely no way in hell that your 90 Accord LX ran 15.74 in the 1/4 mile stock. I think your reading the wrong side of the timeslip and the guy next to you ran the 15.74.
