Got a few good runs in with this guy. He's the "Honda Fanatic, VW hater"...that has sort of been calling me out a little lately. He never said he would beat me, but said I wouldn't be able to really pull on him...I kept telling him I would...but he wouldn't race me until he said he was ready.
So I'm driving down the road early today, and about 1/4 mile ahead, I see him...turning on to the freeway. I proceed to speed up to catch him. I notice he has primered his hood, why I don't know. So I catch him on the on ramp...and he sees me...and waves me up next to him. I oblige.
Mods: His car: 91? Hatchback/D16z6(sohc vtec)/AEM CAI/Sebring Exhaust/vtec controller/dc sports header..thats all I know about.
My car: 02 Jetta Turbo/UP chip/K&N cone filter/ecs n75 race valve.
I don't expect to lose, as a matter of fact, he thinks he will stay with me...we are on the highway doing about 65mph and both go to 3rd. We both hit it...by redline in 3rd, I am 2 car lengths on him. We shut down. He comes back up..saying something, let's do it again..I say okay..you go ahead. I let him get a quick jump..and then I hit it. He's about 1/2 car ahead, and I catch him, pass him and by 4th I'm about 1 1/2 ahead.
I wasn't expecting to annilate him at these high rpms, not the k03's strong point. When I'm dying out, he's picking up...anyway. So after I beat him twice, we still follow and then pull onto another highway...I tell him to slow down and hit 2nd...he says okay. I wanted to slow to 40mph, but car's were coming up...so I was at about 50mph in 2nd about 4800rpms...not great but okay. He hits it, and I hit it...through 2nd quickly...I'm about 1 car on him already, he shifts firts, then me...and I just start walking him hard in 3rd...by 4th I am about 5 cars ahead...then shut down.
We talk, say good run or whatever...then go our separate ways. Decent kid, just needs to not hate of the 4 door sedan sooo much. ;)
Long story cliffs: Race honda fanatic 3 times..and beat him all 3 times. Not so bad from high speeds, but kill him from a lower speed roll.
Fanatic hopefully gained some respect and will stop running his mouth. :p
