I wasn't going to race this guy, but I had to. It was an older, don't know the year, but whatever year the turbo coupes were. I was out in the boonies with my buddy, all domestics out there. When this younger kid in a turbo coupe rolls up next to me. It was white, tinted windows, tach in the pillar...fatter wheels/tires on the rear..and skinnies on the front. Some kind of dual exhaust.
He just looked over at me, and kind of smirked, then hit the gas a little next to me...and I heard the whistle. :) We were in a 45mph zone 2 lanes and the light turns red. My friend is like, run him! I said, alright. We are sitting at the light, getting ready to go...he keeps looking over at me, I look at him, so we both know. ;) And right before the light turns green, a cop comes around the bend and stops at the other light at the intersection...That was close. So we both take off normally. The cop goes the other way, and we are back to nudging each other. I was a little surprised at how quick that car would take off next to me on a roll.
So I waited until we got the next red light, and it couldn't have been anymore perfect. We come to the bottom of a hill, right where it turns from 45mph to 65mph. We are both at the light. Perfect setup. I turn off the ASR, and sit with the clutch feathered. He revs a little, I don't. Light turns green and we take off. Out of the hole, he gets me by about 1/4 car, I didn't spin at all, just feathered out slow. Through 1st, we are even, hit 2nd, he chirps before me, then I chirp...we are still even for a split second, and then I start to pull pretty easy! :D Through 2nd I just kept gaining on him, by 3rd, I was about 3 cars up, and shut it down at about 85mph...and I was about 3 cars on him. He came back up and got next to me, and smiled and looked away. No thumb up, but that's fine. I was in Domestic land, and he got beat, he prolly wasn't very happy.
But those cars aren't a push over, not to slow, for looking like a tank! He must of had some mods. Long story for a short race.

Cop stopped first race. We played around a little, hit the light, and I beat him by about 3 cars from 0-85mph.
