hey guys, got some shit to update on. first, i am sure that some of you remember that i ran a white wolsburg 1.8t and pulled on him thru each gear. well, i bumped into him tonight and there was a drastic difference. he sees me and remembers me and floors it in second. i oblige and do the same figuring i'll begin to pull. NOPE. he actually pulled to my front bumper at his rear bumper thru second and i hit third and slowly started to make up ground. but, not to much. maybe we would be even by the end of third.
i ask him to pull over to find out what he did to make it that much faster. turns out he added only one thing. you see what i have in the sig. he has up chip, 3" dp, stock exhuast and forge. the one thing he added is a turbo XS boost controller. he set it to 18 psi and was pretty much a step quicker than me. thats saying alot too since my jetta aint no slouch.
now, its got me wondering, is it SAFE? i saw how it was hooked up and you unhook the n75 valve and put a manual boost controller in its place. SO YOU BYPASS THE N75 COMPLETELY. is this safe? does allowing the car to boost even higher mean turbo will die sooner? probably. and, will the chip compensate and add in more fuel up top?
i dont know but i might try this product out. the thing that scares me is it is one less thing being controller by the computer. so, does the chip no whats going on or am i just fooling the hell out of ECU?
shit, i prolly will wait and see the long term effects on his car but the short term seems very promising.
turbo xs valve
first race( a few weeks ago) (http://www.clubhonda.com/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=316602881&f=175606891&m=829603479)
the guy almost won! but, my top end pull eventually would have did him in, he even admitted that.
