yeah baby :D Ferrari 550 Maranello

I'm on my way home, I get to the stop sign to turn out of my job and I see a silver 550 maranello going pretty quick :D so I take off after him, a light slowed him down and what do you know, we end up side by side at the light :cool:

so we're chillin', the light goes green and I roll out, fortunately for me so did he, so he only got about a car jump on me. through 2nd we were even then third I pulled out ahead pretty convincingly, we went up to about 100mph then slowed :D yeah baby, he didn't come close to me after that. he was behind me at the next light and didn't look too happy :)

it's a sweet car, especially when at speed :) I'm just glad he was down for a run, most of the time the guys I see in the exotics are driving like granny's.

Now that baby boasts a V-12 engine with 485bhp@7000rpms and a 0-60mph in 4.7 secs. But of course it lists for $220,000...

Pretty impressive car.. just a tad faster and sleeker than the Aston Martin Vantage..

Ehe.. hell with these cars, I like the imports..

(I know you'll tell me a Ferrari is an import, but we call them exotics)

yeah, that car is off the chain! it's the first 550 maranello I've seen on the road in Ft. Lauderdale. unfortunately, my car is so loud I couldn't even hear him punch it, but I've been around some F355 spiders when they're haulin' around and the Ferrari engines sound sweet!! :D

an estimate would be about 250hp right now with 8-9psi. after I rebuild the motor I should be closer to 300 with 10psi and tuning and then I'll go up from there :) the turbo I have now is good for about 20 psi on my motor, which should be up around 400hp to the wheels.

I'm gonna get the hondata stage IV and some big RC's to tune everything, right now the tuning is kinda crappy and the ecu's rev limiter is 7700, so I can't even rev to 8000, but hondata will fix that and get rid of my 115mph speed limiter :D

what your failing to realize is the power to weight ratio. the car with driver is less than or equal to 2000 lbs. check his pics. not too much inside the car. but hey, its all good.

well, my friend's 00 Si ran 13.9 @ 101mph with a 6psi Jackson Racing Supercharger, and I have about 800 less pounds and more hp than him. just the weight difference alone would probably get me into the 12's, let alone the extra power.

don't worry, nobody wanted a video camera more than me when it happened, because I knew it would get responded to like this. but it's the truth, and you don't have to believe me.

14 year old motor? ummm, the head is from a '98 gs-r, the bottom end compression checked fine except for #1 which reads a little low (150 compared to 195 on the other ones).

I've seen a guy on clubsi who has a del sol that ran 12.9 on slicks all-motor full interior minus the spare tire.

just cause you have the disadvantage being 2700 ft up while I'm at sea level doesn't mean that I can't run high 12's on my car.


p.s. does this count as weight reduction? :D

i dont see how u can run only 14's.
In a recent Sport Campact Car or Super Street magazine there is a red del sol with a b16a swap and turbo running 12's and thats wit a heavier car.

Ok see now I believe you... how the f*(%# do you get traction in that thing? That's insane... You must weigh 1800 lbs w/ the driver. Compare that to my full interior, big ass subwoofered, amplified, stock, heavy, N/A, 99 auto 6th gen... it's sad :(

Btw that Ferrari weighs in around 4000 lbs... :p
