the guy was pimpin' his S2000, and gave the crx a dirty look, he he, got the crx mad  so the first open stretch the guy punched it and so did I :D about 10 cars later he got the point, just cause he spent more doesn't make it faster :)
but it was sweet! factory front lip and it was that sweet "susuka blue metalic", that purplish blue color with the matching interior  tight
you can see the color on this page (http://www.hondacars.com/models/s2000/customize.html?step=2&PHPSESSID=521361eec8b30c392f390d287f22d845&nocache=1028245629)

nice!....personaly though i think the S2000's are a bit overpriced for what they are, i mean theres a lot of cars out there you could buy for 35k that would smoke an S2000...like a 2003 cobra for one! i know i know im baised but still, for 35k you get a car with 390hp, a factory supercharger, independent rear suspention, a six speed manual, and as a bounus it comes loaded with options at no extra charge(ie there are no "packages" for power windows/stereo ect..) then theres the WRX(just to name an import) i dont know if it would smoke and S2000 but its got a lot of bang for the buck..plus it comes with a boxter engine like the S200 and costs about 10grand less..i mean dont get me wrong, the S2000 is a nice car with some impressive hp #'s coming from a four banger, it would leave my V6 stang seeing taillights thats for sure, but for 35k?...hmmm, thats a bit much for that car...although i do like that colour!...well anyhoo sorry to rant, good kill!

cool! nice car...like i said impressive hp for a four banger, but its still slower than a cobra...
cheack this out, 500 rear wheel horsepower from an 03' cobra with some tuning and a few bolt ons
http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?threadid=136684&perpage=35&pagenumber=1
although the dyno sheet was never posted so the proof isnt there :(....it is posible though to reach 500hp, probetly even more if your really built up the engine(ie heads, more bost ect..) still the best bang for the buck IMO...well as far as the 35k price range is concerned anyay ;)

they're not $35k, my friend's uncle got one brand new for $28,000 out the door. and stock they run 14.0's, which is about the same or slightly quicker than a stock wrx.
the S2000 has the nice close ratio 6-speed, power everything including the top as stock, really the only option in the color. the S2000 is RWD with 4-wheel independent suspension, almost 50/50 weight and a 60-0 that better than a new porsche turbo. so it's a all-around sweet car, hopefully down the road I'll be able to pick up a nice used spa yellow one
and yeah, met a guy with a stock '03 cobra that laid down 380 hp and 380 torque stock and ran a 12.5 @ 115. that's sweet for stock.
but I'd rather get my S2000 and turbo that biatch :D ... one day

yeah i was looking at that link to the S2000 page..their actually preaty sweet little cars, i woulnt mind having one myself, cept for the drop top, the weather where i live sucks ass,it always too hot or too cold so you can only use a vert like 3 days outta the year :(....i bet an S200 would kick ass at auto crossing, fun little car, it kinda reminds me of a miata, only alittle biger and with some balls :D
yeah the cobra is preaty damn sweet, the only bad part is the shifter, its way too far foward so they overcompansate for it with this long bent handel, very vauge shifts (typical of all mustangs not just the cobra) ford design flaw i guess, i hope when they relase the new 2005 stang they fix the problem and put in a short shifter like the 350z has...thats another car i need to get around to test driving hmm....

yeah, when I drove my friend's 5.0 cobra, the shifter was crap on that to. it's probably the same shifter today.
the thing I hated (besides having to reach way forward for it) was that it doesn't center itself. every normal car when you put it into nuetral will want to center itself between 3rd and 4th, but the mustangs sit limp :( just made for more careful (and slower) shifts to 3rd till I got used to it.
but his car was wuick, so it made up for it :D he ran even with a ZO6 without his 80 shot :D

yeah i know there not 35k everywhere, but the msrp on the website was 32k, and when they first came out there was like a 5k dealer mark up on em(or so ive been told) theres a simlar markup on the cobras now, some places its really bad, ive heard as much as 50k from one guy! but yeah 28,000 is a preaty good deal, if your into roadsters the S200 is def the cream of the crop...i like mussle though, ah well, that just me i guess ;)

sorry timmah, but i'm a little particular about stats.
here we go:
1) it has everything you listed except a supercharger/390hp. in trade you get a drop top. vtec is supposed to be a alternitive to that. (please note, anykind of FI can also be added to this engine)
2)the WRX is $24,000. the S2000 lists for $28,000.- hardly ten grand
3)the engine that is used in the WRX is a boxer a "boxter" is a porsche model. this type of engine is also called a "flat" or "horizontally opposed" and some oldtimers call it a "pancake motor"
4) to my knowlage, honda has never released a flat configured motor here in the states- certainly nothing called a "boxter". the S2000 uses an in line four.
5) it is arguable that the 2.0L in the S2000 is the most advanced porduction motor EVER. it does, in fact, produce the most bhp per in^3/L/cc of any naturally asperated production engine- EVER
6)it was the rebirth of a historic model, much like the new cougar, or the impalla (remember when they brought back the nova?). lucky for us honda didn't choose to discrace the model in doing this, which the domestic market has a habit of doing. it will be, years from now, a legend in the automotive world, and i only see the value of that car, given the proper care, apreciating which should be no suprise to those of us who apreciate it now.
now you might be thinking i don't know what i'm missing. well my man, i grew up in detroit. daddy was a engineer for GM. my nextdoor neighbor developed suspension for Ford, and the new chrysler HQ/R&D center in Auburn Hills is ten minutes from my house. i was surrounded by the big three all my life. i saw them up close. i've seen how they are made (toured a caddy plant). i've seen all the cool shit before anyone else (sat in a preproduction viper. got a look at the GTS before anyone took delivery of theirs'. saw one of the first EV1s). my first car? after 6 months of looking, researching, asking around, and driving..... 1987 honda civic DX hatch. still the funnest car i've ever owned (lol, i beat the shit out of that car). now i've had domestics too. 84 turbo coupe, 90 olds 3.3 cutlass calis, and an 83 Mark VI. what do i drive now? what i want, a 2000 accord. manual, four door, 2.3L vtec. i love it. so do my mom, dad, and sister (they now ALL drive hondas). the reason? hond has never, to my knowlage, engineered a car to start to fall apart at 50,000mi.... and yes GM did it. but goood luck to you and your now archaic fox platform, see you at the track. ;)

ok a few things: first of all i dont drive a fox body, its a 95. the msrp on the honda webpage said the car was 32k..pherhaps its outdated as im sure you could probetly get it for cheaper now, but hey all i was going on was that, sorry i guess i messed up a few of the details there, i know what a boxter engine is so the explanation really wasnt necesary, but i guess its good for everybody to hear it, the 390hp with the factory supercharger was in referance to the 2003 mustang cobra, sorry if that wasnt clear, as ive stated earlier i think the S2000 is a nice car that produces some impressive hp for a four cylinder, for me its not worth the money, for a lot of other people im sure it is, it sounds like a fun little car...im also rather envious of you know for geting to grow up around the big three :(...and you def have a point about domestic reliabilty, as much as i hate to admit it hondas are better built cars, but dont assume that all domestics are unreliable, theres always a few exceptions to the rule, for instance i know a wome who has a 93' dodge caravan with the ORGINAL transmission at 150,000miles! the transmission in those cars was crap so this is truly an amazing feat. so yeah :p
FreakTimmah
08-02-2002, 09:55 AM
oh yeah im glad honda did the car justice...cuz ford really fucked up the new cougar! they turned a car that was traditionaly a V8 RWD land yacht into a treandy pussy little FWD sport compact!..and then when *suprizingly* it didnt sell well enough they kill it off!..god those bastards .....im just glad they got the maruarder right, other wise some kittens might have had to die

oh wait, when you said "archaic fox body platform"
you might have been right, after all ford has used the same chassy on the mustang since 1979...or at least i think they do
