seen a fully built, SC 2000 mustang GT...killed everything....he said he is at around 600-650 hp..
he was going past down the highway about 110km/h so about 65mph and he dropped a gear and lost the back end and was fishtailing everywhere! hahhaha sooo bad ass....

about 10 cars there..me the slowest one (only import) :o i had one race, i raced a 98 mustang GT with CAI, full exaust. lost buy about 7 car lengths, i had the NOS on and i hit the rev limiter in 1st (this bad really bad for the engine)??? and he jumped ahead buy about 1 car lenth in seconds...so i lost soo much speed and i couldnt catch him :( heheh wait untiul my swap, i have big plans!...

also there was a 2 camaro SS's and a fire hawk, and some more mustangs.... good fun!

see now this what im talking about, congrats man you raced somthing with some balls...dont feel bad about losing, it sounds like you had some bad luck is all...what do you have done to your civic?.....most of the ones ive seen have been rice but every once in while you'll suprise us domestic guys...what are your 1/4mile times like? oh and yeah hiting the rev limiter isnt really a good thing but at least you didnt blow the engine, it should be fine, just be a little more careful in the future......

well i hit the rev limiter because my sister borrowed my car and she was playing around with my shift light so it didnt come on, so i was fucked cause i always rely on that light!

its simple really..there is no method to my mahem!....i just found that post to be rediculous, an SUV vs a sebring? come on! thats just stupid, a sebring is a mid life crisis mobile...there not fast, neither is an SUV for that matter...thats like a geo metro vs a toyota corrola...its just pointless...but i supose you do have a point...after all i guess i did contridict my self just a tad there...oh well :p

he he, it's almost as rediclus as a mustang cobra owner braggin' about beating a stock 100hp civic :p :p :p

and that trailblazer was pretty quick, not real fast, but quick. it comes stock with 260hp 4.2L I-6 (how much HP did the old 5.0's have stock from thier V8 ;) )

it's all good we know you just want to step in the ant-pile a little bit while you're here and watch us react, just remember, not all imports are slow :D

eh the hp ratings varied a bit in the old 5.0s..its around 250hp and 320ftlb of torque..in all honesty mustangs have never really been that fast..even in the 60's they werent really abel to keep up with all the real mussle cars out there, the new cobra's preaty sweet though(390hp, 390ftlb of torque) my only problem with four banger performance is that people always forget about tourque, and it is important, especaly if your gonna drag race your car...for the record i dont think all imports are slow, in fact theres actually a few i wouldnt mine having, like an Rx-7 a 350z or a supra just to name a few,...theres just been A LOT of rice around recently and frankly when some kid in a pimped out civic revs at me at a trafic light i get a little annoyed....so anyway im glad im not completly hated, and ill try not to stomp on any ant piles for a while. :D

No, but then again i dont care, you dont buy a performance car cuz it gets 30mpg..you buy it cuz its fast, frankly a civic isnt a fast car..even the civic si is preaty slow..i guess if you put a lot of money into it you could get it to run low 13's or high 12s...but for the cost of doing that you might as well have bought somthing faster to begin with, but hey thats just my opinion, im sure its worth it to you guys and thats why you do it..anyways i was just making a point, if you have a true high performance car your gonna sacrifice fuel economy

FreakTimmah

ill admit its a nice design, i really like the targa top and roll down rear window....but to me they come off as cheap econo boxes..there slow and dont handel that well, they seam to lack the performance to live up to the sporty exterior...if honda had put a bigger engine in it and diched the FWD in favor of AWD it would've been a big seller like the suberu WRX for instance, personaly i think honda screwed that one up preaty big, but hey again, its just my opinon

160hp is still preaty weak, personaly i think VTEC is over rated, i dont want to have to rev my engine that high to go fast, its preaty usless in around towne driving as well...although it is a nice technolgy, i just dont think it does much unless your racing your car...although kudos to porche for desighning it and honda for puting it to use..personaly i wish would some of the domestic cars had it, a little extra bost of power at the top end is always nice to have, but i guess domestic car companies figure they dont need it since the engines are producing impressive #'s as it is using outdated technology(the LS1 thats in the camaro, firebird, and corvette still uses a pushrod V8!)...well whatever, imports and domestics are totaly difrent cars so comparsons dont really mean much, they both have their strong points and weak points, so yeah, basicaly my problem with VTEC is that when you put it in a smaller engine it does a lot for the top end power but leaves much to be desired in the low end... :p

he he, torque is over rated when your car weighs less than 3000 pounds :p

figure when my setup had the gs-r motor I could kill the first ZO6 vette (385hp one) from a rolling start, and that setup only had about 250 torque to his almost 400.

the typical mentality is that the car with more power wins, the only problem is that's only true when you're comparing similar cars, like a mustang and a camaro. but a 2500 pound civic, or my 1950 pound crx :D , don't need as much power to go the same speed as a 3500 pound camaro or mustang.

that's why a integra gs-r with 170hp can run some low 15's in the 1/4 mile, and my friend's 5.0 ran 15.0's when it was stock, and he has the extra traction with RWD that the gs-r doesn't have.

bottom line you like your heavy car with torque and I like my lightweight car with mid/top end
