i have seen a few 4th gens race and they really aren't that fast. their weight (2.2 or 2.3 liter motor) is their drawback. but that doesn't mean they arent ready for a nice custom turbo setup.

I have a 92 prelude and it pulls pretty good for a AT. I'm thinking about an engine swap. What is a good brand of supercharger to use, for a decent price?

I think the Jackson Racing kit in the only supercharger kit available for the prelude that's 100% bolt on. it's not super exspensive, but it's about the same price as a turbo kit. for the auto though the JRSC would probably help you more, get that instant power for off the line.
I've seen one guy who had the Vortech blower custom mounted to work in his prelude, but that took a lot of custom work.

go with the Jackson Racing Supercharger Kit, its cheaper than the Vortech, and most of Vortech's power is all at or near redline, I would prefer the JRSC cause the powerband is impressive all around not just at redline!

Saw a vid of a JRSC on a prelude, racing a Mustang Cobra with i/h/e....the Cobra lost.

should I swap the engine first then throw on the JRSC? or just bolt it on with my stock engine?
I have about 166,000 miles on this H22 non-Vtec SOHC. I'm thinking about swaping the 23 (2.3L) in to the lude.

nah, i say swap a 2.2 liter VTEC. it might take a little fabrication because of under hood space but it would be worth it.
