funny, I don't remember passing a wrx when I was in Jersey ;)
you don't need a ton of power in a crx, for 13 sec 1/4 mile times you only need about 200hp @ the wheels.

WHAT?! 200HP for a 13sec 1/4?!! Is this a weight thing? I think he had nitrous...... I'm going looking for him tonight, I want to SEE that thing up close...
That is a pretty sweet set-up, but I'm wondering if I should relocate the intercooler when I upgrade the turbo... The STi leaves it right by the scoop, other apps I've seen relocated to the front... I have to research this a little more.
Body kit is cool, but I have priorities. (Such as that turbo/intercooler :D ).. Scooby doesn't HAVE to look fast...yet.
Oh.. if any of you have a good technique for gettting up a hill could you PRETTY PLEASE fill me in. Explain how to use the E-brake.. I'm somewhat new to this and keep burning the clutch on steep hills and I KNOW that is NOT good.... help!!

Damn she races too! i must be in heaven :D. Ya, it it definetley a weight thing the CRX is about 1900 lbs with a 1.6 SOHC motor so really adding a 1.6 DOHC or even a 1.8 DOHC wont really hurt the weight too much. Its pretty simple to beat a WRX, drop a B16 or B18c(5) in a CRX and say goodbye. and i love how she says "JUST WAIT". it puts an evil grin on my face and i just wanna say MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA. lol.

as far as the clutch and hills, you just gotta slowly release the clutch while your other foot is still on the brake. when you feel the clutch start to engage and the rpms drop a little you'll be able to let off the brake and the car should keep from rolling back, at least long enough to get your foot onto the gas. takes a little getting used to, but pretty soon you won't even think about it.

Whoa.. okay I'm confused.. I think the car is driving me, lol.. couldn't resist this dirt road on the way home!! Just washed him yesterday too... damn ... oh well it was raining anyways.
I'm going to have to get this off-roading thing outta my system before I start doing work.. lol
Burned the clutch again, at the SAME hill.. I can't avoid this one....

more gas, quicker, faster clutch release. takes a little time. don't use your e brake as a crutch; you'll learn MUCH slower. instead (and this is how i learned) if there is a car too close behind youjust slowly roll back untill you are resting on their front bumper. they'll honk, but ignor them, they're just telling you they're willing to help. once you have all the cars rolling weight on theirs, just take off like you normally would. you're helping yourself as well as them by teaching them to be courtious to other cars on the road, esp. manual trans drivers. sooner or later people will catch on.
BTW: a few coats of wax and a strip of clear packing tape would be a great addition for your rear bump ;)er

Good call Wreckless, I'll be sure to try it especially when I have a Viper on my a$$ like I did last night.. but I dropped the clutch and took off like a rocket. HEY that works too!!
Actually we could not get him to chirp.. ehe nothing a turbo-upgrade can't fix.. wouldn't that be hot? A four wheel burn out.. http://www.clubhonda.com/images/ubbicons/firedevil.gif
But I did try the technique from Candyman, and that seems to be working best.. thanx!

You bet.. It's got 227hp & 217lbs/tqe with no mods and apparently runs 14.7's. And yes this is my first 5-speed. By the end of this summer I hope to be running mid-13's.. that's my goal for now.
