alright, let me set up the situation. i was on the way to the gas station at the light. theres a taurus in front of me who didnn't go when the light turned green, i honked and got to his left. at the next light he revved and i laughed. light changes and i throw it to the floor, he does the same and cuz he has a 6 cyl w/ torque he won. i hate my engine, well no, but i do.
i have an electric drill that has more torque than my CRV

how about trading in your CRV to a dealer and getting a new car that way???

in reply to the exhaust. you should get the comptech exhaust. it's a little pricey but quality is top notch (695.95). and if it's too loud get their silencer for 19.95. horsepower and torque gains are pretty nice. heres the site link:www.solar.innercite.com/comptech/header5
good luck and watch for those taurus':D

but then again, the teg is a really nice eccono car. The CRV is an eccono suv wanna be.

I guess the Audi S8 and the BMW 750i are family cars as well then.

Most civics and tegs are just really nice versions of this car

as I said before, the first Gen of Taurus wasn't too shabby. The second gen just sucks but for some reason the guys who own the new slo (SHO) don't seem to realize their cars are slow for what they should be. I saw one the other day sporting a 1/4 time of 15.8 blah

i heard the honda CRV made the air flow VERY RESTRICTIVE. also heard that the throttle body is only ~58mm  :(

since the CRV was based on the civic.what about an h22 swap? :D

i know ford came out w/ a ford taurus SHO model. The SHO is supposed to be quick! i've seen one on a track back in the days, and it was stompin on all competition!

just fYI everyone.

Im looking into getting another vehicle, and a honda might be the trick, so I joined this forum.

anyhow...
Im in the mood to spread some knowledge.

I own an '89 SHO taurus, and am a member and mod of a few current SHO forums. Specs as follows:

'89-91 SHO
ONLY 5 speed, no ATx offered
220hp 215lbft torque, 24valve DOHC yamaha v6
dual stage intake, 7300rpm redline
0-60 in 6.6seconds (typical)
0-100 in 16seconds (typical)
top speed in excess of 140 mph

They are mantenance bitches however. The engine is damn near bulletproof, but the rest is Ford <img src="http://www.clubhonda.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif" alt="Razz" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::p--> and everything stamped with ford likes to **** the bed.

in '92 they started offering an ATX as wel as the 5speed MTX.

In '96 the yamaha engine was dropped out of prodiction, a duratec v8 was produced (along with the horrid new body style) and yamaha designed the heads. still fast, but pathetic if you ask me. 3.4 liter V8, good for only 235hp.

The 2nd Gen is almost the same as the 1st Gen... you are thinking of the 3rd Gen with the 3.4L V8...

The MTX's only have 200 ft-lbs of torque... the ATX has 215ft-lbs. Red line is 7000rpm with a fuel cut off of 7300rpm. Also, there was no ATX offered in '92... The ATX was offered in 93-95
