I have a stock 99 EX automatic so I usually go out hunting for "fast" cars. Well last night, after having worked many hours on a useless programming project, I decided to go out cruising.
I was definitely looking for a race. It was late (almost midnight) - almost no cars on the road, and no cops either. Half an hour goes by, but no one even revved once - I didn't rev either because I had not seen any "worthy" challengers :p Thus I decided, screw it I'm going home.
On my way home, there is a fairly long straight road, with few lights. As I come to one of those lights I notice there is another car sitting there. I got closer, and I was rewarded with this view: slammed civic (http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=188242&make_type_query=make%3DHonda&model_brand_query=model%3DCivic&tree=Honda%20Civic)
Light was red - perfect! I pull next to him and rev... he revvs back! So the race is on... light turns green and I drop the clu- err I mean, I floor my Civic for all it's worth. I got the jump and pulled 1/2 car ahead.
First gear, I couldn't believe it, he hung at my fender. Second gear comes around 10 seconds later, and soon I'm in VTEC paradise - left him at my rear bumper. Third gear at 80 left him 1 & 1/2 cars behind, so I shut it down - I was satisfied at that point ;) He drove up and gave me a thumbs up, then turned off onto a street. All in all a nice race!
Notes: In case you couldn't tell, the race was all imagined :p I don't race my car, it's slooow. Go see that slammed civic though, if you haven't already.

My car is an audio "sleeper" ;)
