puts a hurting on a chipped 1.8T jetta.
the guy was cool, plain little white hatch, started from behind but pulled past pretty quick to beat the 1.8T. said he ran a 12.9 with the hatch, I believe him.

i lost gracefully. that hatch really pulled in third gear. so, we had 2 chances for good races if we had the crx. on a side note, i raped a crx on the way home. a white one with dual center exhuast. really freakin loud. i pulled on him worse than the hatch did to me. the guy said nothing after!!! ha. vindication.

Its really not that hard. Figure i/h/e vafc, cams, gears, and tuned you could prob hit a 12.9. Assuming the rex had the standard weight reduction. Full interior thats a diff story

your right given those factors and the weight reduction it could be done, remember hes using the lsd tranny along with that :D

yeah if it was a itr i dont think he would put cams... intake is like 4hp...Exhaust is like 6hp...and headers another 7hp... thats only like 17 more hp to the wheels the type-r has what 195 to the crank thats just to the crank not wheels and thats 212hp im not sayin it cant run 12.9 im sayin it must have mad work to maybe it had nos

yeah, he probably ran a 12.99999999999 on slicks, but it did pull pretty good.
don't think he was spraying, didn't hear any siloniods click in or the intake get louder like when a guy is spraying.
you can tell he's planning on some kinda boost though, he had a boost guage, but when he was next to us I didn't see it go up into boost.

damn rich, you pay attention to a lot of detail. als i saw was the huge tach so i had to see if he was a showfag or not. :) guess he was the real deal. the jetta should lay down low 14's and this guy passed me like i wasn't really moving. but, the jetta is a step or 2 faster now. just need an exhauast and lowered and flywheel and clutch and lsd and...

well, figure it's got ~200hp, ~2200 pounds and LSD figure as long as he can drive it should run pretty hard.

yeah not 200 to the wheels and 12.9 come on rich if thats the case then why buy turbo kits for b16 just to run like 13.4 on 8 pounds just get a type-r how many profesional drag cars you see hit 11.8 all motor and there running h22s and and crazy guted hatch backs :(

I totally agree. You need to be pushing over 300 hp to the wheels to be pulling 11's consistently.
200 hp - is that dyno or just an estimate? If it's dyno, w/ 2200 pounds I would bet he could get into 13's if he's a good driver.
My car is an audio "sleeper" ;)

Look at me 13.1 on street tires on a b18b turbo in a hatch. He must of had slicks. IMO! unless more money on that motor.
