aieght i know this has nothig to do on performance but i am wondering if they have fans meant for cooling down amplifiers? i have a mtx amp that goes hot instantly when i turn up they volume. first i had it on 4 channels (55 per) then i tried it on 2 channel to see if that would help but it only stays on 5 min longer do u know whats up i have a pretty descent amp. would it help to change over to two, two channels?? i love my car but i also luv my music so any suggestions would be taken seriuosly. thxs

yep, they do make fans for AMPs, i'd suggest you get one, but i don't know how you'd mount it

does your amp actually shut down from the heat? or is this just for prevention purposes?

i guess u can it is shuting down from heat to prevent any damage
i have to find someway to get my amsp working properly cuz it sucks having the bass thumping away from one amp and no words cuz the hi freq bass is gone *sniff*

most amps turn themselves off at around 180 degrees, which isn't too hard if you're thumpin' in the summer time.
you can get 12V fans at radio shack, or online like www.partsexpress.com (http://www.partsexpress.com)
I'd wire one with a relay and just have it turn on with the amp, then you shouldn't overheat anymore. usually it's just the lack of air moving in the trunk that causes the problem.

someone mentioned putting in a capacitor....would this solve the problem?

it'll help your amp get the power it needs on a hard bass kick, but it won't keep it cooler.
