It's all about the performance. Not really the motor, but the driver(me),brakes and suspension. :D

hmmm, i didn't do a show mod until i had my camaro runnin high 13's. and i only put vette rims on it and then what it. as for the jetta, only show mod will be lowering it and even that is more performance then looks. so, performance all the way baby. must go faster.

a wheel and tire combo can be a great performance mod as well as looks.

I take it home, roll into the garage and PROPERLY detail the car, top to bottom. The KIDS at teh dealer or wherever you get your ride don't appreciate a mirror shine like the owner does...
THEN, out comes the factory sound system, wires and all. Replaced with the aftermarket goodies of: cd/dvd, highs, mids and subs, amps, all new wiring, etc. NOTE:One 10" or 12" sub in a plexi box mounted over an inverted spare tire makes for light weight and still sounds great. And doesn't drown out teh vocais in the DVD, 8-) ...
THEN the rims/tires...
THEN lowered...
THEN I dive under the hood and don't come out for monthes...
SO I am not sure if appearance goes first or performance, but a little at a time doesn't hurt.
