well, i have a "slightly" modded 1.8t that moves alright. question is what should i do next? neuspeed makes a lower intercooler pipe that might help a little. or i could get a short shifter. or i could break down and buy a 3" cat back exhuast. or springs and shocks and sway bars and strut bars. or, fininsh my stereo. what to do.

yeah, let's get the 3" cat back on that biatch, get some more top end! I still think we need to find some cams for that thing, need to call crower. get that thing to hold 22psi to redline and then it'll be hauling some serious booty http://www.clubhonda.com/images/ubbicons/burnout.gif

i say you go with the suspension, get that thing from swaying all over the place. get some good springs and shocks then go for the cat back exhaust.

Hey Camuman, if you run that open dp, I would run about an 18" straight pipe out of it, if I were you. You will get some mad backfire, and if you run the pipe, you can have it bent donw towards the pavement.

I thought about doing that as well, then well my 3" dp/cat separated at the cat flange...(the 3 bolts were not tight enough) it sounded like hell!! I mean loud. The pipe won't change the sound, but will allow a little extra flow. Are you running cat or race pipe.

Anyway, I say go with 2.5 or 3" exhaust. I just sold my ATP 3" dp/cat and I'm getting the TT 2.5" TB soon. once I get the cheese for it. When I took my dp off, I couldn't believe the top end I lost. Amazing, how much that thing added. I had it before I was chipped, so I never knew exactly what it added until I took it off. Big difference. 3" TB will open the hell out of the exhaust.

Let me know how the mod goes..if you run an open dp/dump tube/straight pipe...I'm curious if there is a large enough gain. I've been thinking about it, but it's kind of pointless since I put the stock dp/cat back on. That's the most restrictive part anyway. :p

Keep me posted.

glad to share with a fellow 1.8t. i already have a 3" dp with race pipe. basically, just gonna unbolt the exhuast from the race pipe. yeah, i know it will be hella loud but i am used to it since i drove a cammed, heads, headers, hollowed cat, gas guzzling Z28. aint no thing. for performance gains: i have heard reports of up to 4 mph and 3tenths in the qtr with a dump tube, which is basically no exhuast after the race pipe. monster gains in the top end are expected. i'll keep ya posted.

Oh yeah, your high end gains are gonna be huge, no doubt. I just wonder if your running an actual dump tube or just straight off the race pipe. I may be wrong, but wouldn't you want the exhaust angled down? Anyway, I had planned to do it, but with my stock dp it seems worthless. Maybe 1-2 mph on my trap...but the dp is the most restrictive part, so for me it's useless. For you with you 3" dp, a good idea.

I miss mine. :( Can't wait to get one back on. The difference is amazing. :p

I think what he wants to do is just remove the cat-eliminator pipe, so there would be the downpipe, the open after that.

should be fun :D
