im getting a 92' honda civic ex wit a v-tec motor...it has an exhaust..was wondering how good it would do on a quarter mile...it also gots 17's on it...

Low 17's very high 16's with some good driving. I hope it's not an auto.

actually it is an auto...I had got to test drive it cuz my dads friend is selling it to me..but it gets up 2 about 40 or 50 pretty quick...I usually am real good at reaction times cuz most the time at a stop like i usually am ready to hit da gas so ya...

Wow, auto? I wouldn't look to putting any power into that car. Honda auto trannies don't like to be abused nevermind power adders.

never drove a 5spd...im only 16..im mostly jus going for looks but want to add jus couple things for a lil bit more speed

you might wanna consider somthing else, like a 92si hatch. you could pick one up preaty cheap and it would faster then what your planing on geting. not that you need somthing really fast at 16, but you cant get into too much trouble with a civic, its less tempting then somthing like a turbo eclipse or mustang GT. and def get a 5-speed, it will take you a week to learn how to drive it well enough that you can get around, mabey a month before your good at it. its not that hard, my cousins first car is a 5-speed and hes doing great with it. trust me though, you want a 5-speed, my first car was an auto and i hated it the second i drove a stick shift car for the first time. if your worried about the test drive bring your dad along, or a friend, have them drive it, it might even be worth your while to get a mechanic to look it over, mabey do a compresion test. 11 year old cars do have the tendancy to become money pits, so just be careful. good luck

eh ok, i guess its still a good first car. id still have someone take a look at it though if i were you, at least ask this guy what been done to the recently, cuz trust me you dont want to get it home and find out it needs tires, brakes, plugs, wires, ect...i mean its fun to do that kind of stuff, but its also time consuming and will cost you some $$$ anyways good luck

yea its my dads friend and were taking it in my dads work..my dad works at holmes honda and were gonna take it there and put it on the hoste and look under the car and stuff..i already have test drove it and looked at it plenty of times.

Since you're only 16 you really don't need anything fast right away. My first car was a 1976 Camaro with a 350 which had 165 hp from the factory. The best thing about that car was it handled well. It would do 130+ MPH but I'd have killed myself if it didn't handle as well as it did. Upgrade the handling then add power.

Seems like you got a long way to go. If I were you i would start reading more and do alot of research to gain more knowledge of what you are doing otherwise you could end up going the wrong direction!
