Yesterday I ran my 98 ls with bolt-ons with the temperature around 75. My fastest time was 16.8!!!!!??? Why did I run so slow? I was running my 17 rs limited rims with potenza so2's? I should at least been able to hit 16.5, no? Well, my ls motor embarrased me because a faggot ass group called, HEAR US FEAR US, which consists of ford focus's were beating me! But, when we street race, I spank em? Just thought I'd share my embarassment with everyone.

The street isn't the track. I don't know what you are expecting but I am sure that 16.5 is possible, get more practice at the track.

it could have been a number of things. From you not not reving it up before you dumped the clutch or you were having tractions problems it could have been a # of things.

I'll put it this way...LS's are SLOW BRO..unless your running boost adn even after all the moeny of throwin in a nice kit you still will only be hittin "decent" times

they are street tires. I tried launing at a bunch of different rpm's. 2500 dump=wheel spin. 3000 dump=wheel sping. They just spin. My trap speed times are teh same as my cousin's gsr but 60 ft times suck. Reaction time was .584.

What was your 60ft? Next time I suggest slipping the clutch. It's really odd that your car would spin so bad from a 2500rpm dump.

My 60 ft times were around 2.6's bad huh? The track I race at sucks and they don't spray water down for front wheel drive cars cuz they ******* hillbillies they drive domestics. I can't really heat the tires up. My trap speeds were 83/84 mph.

DAMN ! 2.6 is not good. You don't need to do a burnout. You should just drive around the burnout box when the tree man calls you forward just do a little spin to get the tires clean.

Now when you launch don't dump it. Rasie the RPM to like 3,500 and slip the clutch, as the car starts to roll dip into the gas pedal some more and when you feel the clutch grab some more come off it completely and get on the gas. Sounds like alot and it does take it's toll on your clutch but it's all about going fast <img src="http://www.clubhonda.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15">

I got racing again this Wednesday, I'll try it. This time I'm borrowing my buddies si rims and tires, or my cousins mickey tompson drag slicks. What I don't understand is my buddies n/a talon with intake and exhaust, totally gutted, runs 16.0 and at one point ran a 15.6! That car is ****, too?

It's all about practice. If you can knock off .3 or .4 off your 60ft you'll be much happier with the result...goodluck

i was in the same prediciament as you with my 99GS, it felt fast on the street but did like 16.2's and **** , i felt like an ass. plain and simple the newer b18;s were just slower. thats the only exuse. i have seen like 94-95's go 15.2 stock .

i have yet to even see an SI go tha stock . but i can tell you from my own eyes all the pre 96 ls's ai saw were down in the 15.4 range and i saw one do 15.2 bone stock .

I've seen an Si go 14.9 with no spare and jack and an AEM CAI on deflated stock crap michilen's.

Cars are funny some are faster than others even though theyre all the same. You just have to pray you get a good one.

Well...I just bought a 1998 jdm gsr motor for $2,050, and today was my fourth day at Wiseco and I ****in love it! Forged pistons everywhere! I can't wait til I start saving to build that gsr motor. I'm not telling anyone when it's done I'm just going to show up at the track one day and whoop on everybody. There are tons of people there with a million connections so I should be fine. Another thing, I got my 98 ls motor for sale, so let people know that one is for sale.
