I haven't had any luck getting any 60 ft times better than 2.4 with my Ls Vtec Coupe on stockies.
I was wondering what everyones average 60foot time is and how you are getting off the line.
I normally rev 3 grand and side step the clutch.
Since I have a Mugen program in my Skunk2 chip, my Vtec doesn't hit till 5,600rpm.
Green light.
Drop clutch...
3,000 rpm...
4,000 rpm...(yawn...)
5,000 rpm...VTEC!!!!!!!
If I launch higher, I get too much wheelspin.
Feathering seems to lose a lot of time.
Any suggestions, tips?
What kind of tires are getting good 60 fts?
I heard the Falken Azenis are good shiz.
thx

i'd actually launch at 2000-2500 rpm. if you don't have great tires, then launch at that rpm, and deflate them slightly to get more flex outta them to get them to grab better

damn.......
I dunno but I have no problems launching Wreckless's Accord, I usually rev it up to maybe 3-3.5K and just give some gas let off the clutch accordingly. Its all about clutch/gas/tire grip feel and you adjust accordingly given whats going on. I usually lauch with no wheel spin or a chip or so of the tires. Dumping the clutch ain't gonna get you anywhere, just go out and practice what I suggested.
Azenies are also badass tires, however not exactly a drag application tire. They are for track/auto-x use not really drag applications. Great tire and very sticky, but not the greatest wear numbers. They are made to be a cornering tire, not really a drag tire.

I launch my B16 CRX at 5k rpm
I have 15" toyo t-1s proxes
My 60 ft varies between 2.2 -2.3
I just dump the clutch and feel the throttle if it spins to much I lift the throttle a little ....

That is pretty much what I have to do is deflate my tires a little and launch at a lower RPM, Since I drag on my 16" street tires. This is another reason why I probably won't get a bigger turbo. But maybe I'll buy some slicks one day.

It all depends on the set-up, and your personal experience. You will just have to try a bunch of different launches, and see what works best for YOU in YOUR car. Every application is different. Good Luck, it will get better.
