hey you guy's this kid in my web design class was talked smack today. he thinks that his 4 door focus which is a automatic, with a cheap 89.99 exaust and his cheap intake can beat me in my 2000 civic si. when he said that he could smoke me i started cracking up and i got a dentition after school.so i said that his car was slow and i said that i would ask my peeps on clubhonda if they think that he could beat me. i think that he is smoking crack. he wants to race this weekend but my car is getting work done by rich so the race is on hold <img src="http://www.clubhonda.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif" alt="Razz" width="15" height="15"> <img src="http://www.clubhonda.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15">

yea when i fisrt started sprayin tis dude in this focus wanted to race me soo bad, im like are you sure . . he begged and begged to get rocked, so we go , i let him launch and counted slowly, 1, 2, 3 and dumped on it . i spun like crazy all the way up to the top of3rd gear and looked back and he was far behind i let off and didnt even go into 4th. . . i slowed down and put my 4ways on and asked if he wanted me to spray next time , he shut up for the rest of the night

i told him that he is a ricer and he says no i am not a ricer. i said that you have a ford focus with a intake and a cheap exaust.so i said if we raced i would kill you.his car has 130hp and i told him that i had 170 he said no you don't then i pull up the specs on the si and it said 160 plus i have i/h/e so i have about 170-175. so shut up punk and he didn't say anthing after that.CHUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

personaly i dont like civics, but i had a DX corrola and it sucked. if your gonna get a economy car you should get somthing with a little bit of kick to it. my car has roll up windows and no spoiler, and i dont mind that much, but it does come off as kinda cheap. the bottemline is if im gonna pimp around like im the ****, i dont wanna get laughted at for doing it in a cheap car <img src="http://www.clubhonda.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif" alt="Razz" width="15" height="15">

dude #1, if you have just a gsr swap in your dx, with no other mods, theres no way you outrun v8 camaros. you'll get the v6's, or maybe an 82 camaro with a dead cylinder, but your not fooling anyone with that comment.

hondas are no chevy v8's, in terms of performance. about the only ways i can think of a connection is the ability to swap the engines in, and the sheer number of parts available for them. otherwise, the menality of the tuners are almost polar opposites. many hot rods run around with beat up bodies, primer paint, old rusty wheels, but can blow the doors off of just about anything because the owner puts all his money under the hood. except for v6 models, i dont really know if there is such thing as a "all show no go" chevy. pretty much regardless of how many show parts an owner puts on, he still has a 13 second car, and with a few, cheap mods they can have some monster hp. everyone knows the riceboy sport compacts, with the wings, rims, and body kits, but with stock engines, they have trouble outrunning bicycles. modifying a honda is expensive, and almost always very difficult.

I can see 170 hp with bolt ons. The SVT focus runs really close to what the 6th gen Si's run, at least according to what I have read in a few magizines. I have yet to see one, so I cannot verify. ummm no, were talking base model 4 door automatic focus. NOT the SVT. the SVT focus would prob give him a run for his money. but the base model....no. thats about as powerful as a 10 speed bike, and even then.....

hahaha, serously their such a pos car. like the zx3 and SVT focus's arent bad. hell the SVT is down right bitchen. but the base model four door..........god what a ****box. my sisters(formaly mine) 93 corrola with 130k on the clock feals 100 times more refined and solid then that thing. the engine is smoother, it doesnt rattel like the focus does....im convinced now, american companies really cant compete anymore in the small car market. the japs have owned the big three hardcore <img src="http://www.clubhonda.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif" alt="Frown" width="15" height="15">

lol where the hell have you been? ok to recap, my mustang got totaled in late march and i had to replace it.

as far as the why? well lets see, it was either lease a civic si(the 03) or buy a new car. i didnt want a used car cuz i didnt want to start sinking money into it right away for brakes, tires, and other stuff like that. i also dont make a lot of money so i needed somthign cheap. that didnt leave me with a lot of options and the focus is really the best buy in its price range. you get a lot of bang for the buck with it and the reiablity is decent now that they've gotten the bugs worked out of the US cars. im happy with it, i actually love driving this car, its a lot of fun and has a lot of nice options in it for such a cheap car. i guess i would have gotten a honda if they werent so damn expenisive(compared to the foci that is). its a good car though, no regrets <img src="http://www.clubhonda.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif" alt="Razz" width="15" height="15">

I have a couple of friends with focuses and they are pieces of s***. If I were the dude with the SI I would slap the dude with the focus. Then I would go and show the focus who is boss. Please my 97 ex could beat the **** out of the focus, and my car is all factory under the hood too. I want to meet this guy who thinks that his focus is fast. I will take care of him. The SVT's may have some chance only if it is a 6-speed manual. Other than that anyother Focus's do not have a chance.

well having driven an 03 ex and of course my car(03 focus zx3) i can tell you that satisticly the civic isnt really any faster. its a pussy 1.6liter 130hp SOHC vtec engine vs a slightly lessadvanced, (no varable valve timing or honda refinefment) but bigger 2.0 DOHC ztec motor. the ex has better throttle response and a nicer shifter, the focus is a little on the soft side in a stiaght line, weak tranny mounts, slow throttle response under 3k, soft shifter, you really have to know how to keep it in its power range to go fast in a straight line, and even then its not that powerful. BUT in the twistes theres not much in its price class that compars to the focus. this car seriously has one of the best stock suspentions of anything ive ever driven. its well balenced, a little bit of boddy roll, but overall it does a great job of griping the road. the focus is a fun to drive little car, more so id say then my cousins EX simply because the civic has a fairly large ass on it, its a little more sedan like than a coupe. but still a sexxy car, i would take one <img src="http://www.clubhonda.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif" alt="Razz" width="15" height="15">

i know a guy with a suburu 2.5 rs who autocrosses and he says hes been owned by a few foci(with really good drivers mind you<img src="http://www.clubhonda.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" width="15" height="15">), its a great handeling little car, dont underestmate it, there is a reason its on car and drivers 10 best list <img src="http://www.clubhonda.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" width="15" height="15">

oh and as far as the SVTs go, the SVT flat out ownz the current SI, it is the superior car, and it will outhandel most hondas on the road today. thats not to say it cant be outdone, but for 20k its a great package, and save for the SRT-4 and cooper S there really isnt another car in its class that stacks up to it.

i suggest you go take a focus out on a twisty backroad, drive it for a day, and then get back to me on how much it sucks, cuz it sounds to me like you really havent driven one.
