Last Friday night at E-town I ran Scoobie twice...

First run I manage a 14.750 1/4 @ 91.5mph :D with a 2.021 60'... and I was TOTALLY psyched... :D :D Maybe this Friday I can run a 14.6 (my next goal)... and it's last open night until March. Gotta love the WINTER...

Second time I messed up the launch but still managed a 15.0... THAT's okay though, I still have that 14.75 time slip in hand.... lol.

Remember that hottie I talked about a couple weeks ago that installed my CAI?? ((now my hottie-boyfriend :p lol .. yea baby!! And what luck, there's so much more to him than that!! My guy is da bomb...))

Hopefully this Friday he will have his hatch running, so we both can race.. lol.... I 'talked' him into coming with me the other night, not exactly a difficult negotiation, but I felt bad the hatch wasn't running.. I have to get some pics to post, it's pretty damn cool...

And Scoobie's gauges are installed!!! ((LOOKS BAD A$$)) I observed at full throttle 6000 rpms in 2nd that my WRX is barely pushing 14psi, I think .1 = 14psi (the gauges are metric so I'm trying to learn the conversion) then at 7000 it drops to about .05 which I think would be about 7psi..

What causes the turbo to move from vaccuum to boost (like when you step on the gas what happens with the vaccuum/boost)? I'm still trying to figure out why the gauge reads the way it does...

Any suggestions for launching better to improve R/T?? I feel like I'm going to redlight if I load the clutch too early.. I dunno.. and using the E-brake isn't exactly suggested for AWD ( I don't think) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks and ttyl!

whats the elevation there? the trap seems awfully low. hmmmm, your launch is actually really good. nailing a 2.0 60' is great. its the car is not pulling hard down the track or your shifting slowly. whats the stock boost suppossed to be in the scoobie anyways? congrats on the launch :) :) :)

Congrats girl!!!!!!!If I was you I would not worry too much on your R\T,learn how to launch the car and get it down the track to it's full potential.Your reaction time will naturally get better as you practice.Keep it up girl..... ;)

Enough room for two boyfriends???

No prob, but only two... as long as it's the one I've got and my Scoobie... ((and they don't mind one another!! niice!!))

LOL...

I guess the launch was pretty decent but my R/T is high, like 1.1-ish .. how do you get better R/T's... I'm still learning how to drop the clutch from 5500 rmps while keeping the flywheel fast enough to catch, without rolling forward..... practice should help I think.. lol.

you just have to get used to the tree for a good r/t.

yellow...yellow...yellow (go on that one)...green

the time it takes you to start to move on that last yellow and actually engage the clutch and what not, you'll be moving the moment the green drops. like spooled said, that'll come over time, you just keep going earlier and earlier till you start to red light, then you've gone too early. but for now, just work on the launch and shiftin' good down the track.

here is my best GUESS:

1 bar is equal to 15 psi. Are you sure it reads 'point' 1 and not just 1? I think that you were right with how yor guage read, but I think that maybe your gauge reads bar, not psi...

That is a good guess, OF COURSE it is reading bar. I don't think that you would get these times running 1 psi....Anyway, 15 psi is one bar, so if you are reading 1, you are at 15 psi. The times are good, you should keep up the good work. Yes, deffinelty leave on the second yellow, and keep going earlier until you red light. You will get better over time. Sounds like you got a nice ride...why haven't you submitted pics to the website? Or entered it in the Vision Imports ride of the Month? Good luck!

yeah, I like PSI a whole lot better, plus it sounds better :)

"yeah I running 14.7psi" sounds better than "yeah I'm running 1" :D

I will evenutally install the autometer one, but it doesn't fit in the STi gauge pod...

AND FYI .1 is 14.5 PSI as stated by Subaru... in the conversion chart I got w/ gauges...

And I lied.. in 2nd gear at 6000 RPMs it's about 4 to 5 bar-thingys off the .1 bar-thingy... aren't my descriptions wonderful?? For the most part I'm pushing .05 which is about 7psi.

4th gear when floored, almost hits the .1...

Either way I have to learn how to read ANY boost gauge, so I might as well learn it in metric... it's not like the conversion means anything to me anyways... so the way I learn it is how I'll know it...

Can't wait to get to the track this Friday!!

Uhh, I have to go study for a finace exam.. ttyl..
