94 Civic swapped vs. Me

Well, we never actually raced at the strip, but this guy has been talking a lot of shit lately to me about his "Japanese" car. Here is his setup..you tell me.

b16 swap, it's the motor out of the "japanese civic type R" :confused: Anyway, a Type R tranny, AEM CAI, DC Sports header, stock exhaust. Street tires at 22psi....and he managed a 15.7 @89mph, and 16.1 @88mph...with 2.3-2.460's, he was saying it should be in the 14's easy. He says it has 220hp...I think he's crazy. You all shine some light on this subject for me. It's gutted accept two front seats. No Tach ( I'll give that to him, but he says he don't need one) :rolleyes:

He still wants to run me, and I told him I won't until he gets close to me time..which is 14.7@95mph...2.460' times. :rolleyes:

What should this car be running...generally.

i would say he is running in the high 14's. Mayber at the track he couldnt hook up right or something like that. RUN HIM!! and see what happens ;)

I will eventually...but just wasn't in the mood Friday. Even at that, his traps would be in the mid 90's if he was running 14's...I would think...his highest trap of the night was 89mph. That's a low 15 trap...but I'll get with him shortly. :)

GO run him and bust his monkey ass. If he was running those time with a ctr gutted and bolt-ons. Just go and bust his ass and then laugh and say I told you so. Stock Si's full interiorand less HP are capable of those times.

yeah, it's not like he ran a 16.0 @ 100. the power just ain't there, those trap speeds are right for the times he ran.

if he's really got all the stuff he said, it just ain't working right, it should move faster than that. but I'm guessin' he was just saying he had all that crap to sound like a badass.

Well, the shop that assembled the motor and car told him this, so he believed them. They said 220hp...which is obviously BS. He did manage to pull down a 15.5 with it later on that night. But the traps are still high 80's maybe a 90mph. I still don't think it's a great challenge for me, but I'll run him if he still wants to.
