terrorized some streets tonight

we turned our usual deserted road in our "proving grounds" tonight. got out my www.race-technology.com (http://www.race-technology.com) performance meter and me and camuman tested his car.

here's the results, we could have tested the reaction time too, but didn't feel like it. the times are ok, but the mph proves what we allready knew, the stock all-weather tires suck butt. (the hp measure is the meter's estimate from the weight)

first run, bad launch...

330 ft 6.84s 0.30g 60.3mph
1/8 Mile 10.12s 0.21g 76.2mph
1/4 Mile 15.30s 0.13g 96.3mph

0-60MPH 7.24s 0.29g 325ft

Pk Power: 93.0mph 14.33s 1185ft 228hp
Peak G: 37.2mph 3.95s 120ft 0.53g


notice the unhappy 60' time above, now take a look at the difference a couple tenths in the 60' make :)

second run...

Roll out 0.47s 0.50g 3.1mph
60 ft 2.50s 0.50g 29.8mph
330 ft 6.52s 0.30g 60.6mph
1/8 Mile 9.78s 0.18g 76.9mph
1/4 Mile 14.90s 0.14g 97.5mph

0-60MPH 6.90s 0.31g 322ft

Pk Power: 95.2mph 14.25s 1228ft 229hp
Peak G: 39.0mph 3.70s 121ft 0.53g


like I said, the times are ok, but the mph is there. I trust the meter to be pretty accurate, but when we get to the track with it and make some runs and compare timeslips, we'll know for sure.

I am not tryin to say u didn't beat him but I am just wondering how did your 14 second CRX beat a Ferrari 360 V-12 that runs 12's

it was my performance meter, but we tested camuman's 1.8T Jetta.

as for the times, it's the crappy tires. a stock wrx runs 14.0-14.2's at about 96-98mph, camuman is getting the same trap speed, just a slower time due to traction.

ouch, a skeptic. nah, most people i run are from a roll, so its power vs power. notice the trap speed. 97.5 is deep 14's with a good launch. notice from the first run to the second, my 60 foot went from 2.7 to 2.5, a decrease of .2, and in the qtr, it translates to a .4 difference (15.3 to 14.9). basically, if i could nail a nice 2.0-2.1 like most poeple do with my car i'd net a nice 13.9-14.1 qtr. most of all, all this was with out the race program 100 octane gas and with an extra passenger in the car(more wiehgt). of course, will test agian with the Drag radials i plan on getting. till then, the luanch is were my car sucks. crappy all season bald tiures + huge torque downlow = bad 60 ft times.

but, none the less, candymanjl can attest for my kills. i having nothing to lie about, the car is quick. i just cant launch with these tires.
