well you will be nervous when u line up, it just happens. When that second yellow light blink you should already be trying to get off the clutch that was as the light go green you foot is just coming off the clutch. dont jump too quick or you will red light. Then just try to focus on your launch. If you rev it too high it tends to just spin all of first, too low and u bog 1st. once you get that down packed just shift very fast :) or you can try power shifting during the runs. let us know how it goes

it will be easy. atleast you're first time won't be in a CRV. do you have any idea how many people laughed at me? not cool. but you'll be nervous as ....

sweet! get that beast on the track! ;)

you'll have fun, it'll be worth the drive, once you get past your first run you'll get more comfortable. it took me a few trips before I stopped getting nervous at the line.

it's... yellow... yellow... yellow (go on this one)... green

it'll take some getting used to, you start to make your move on the last yellow so that on green the car is starting to move.

but your first time you can always ignore trying to get a good reaction time and just worry about a good launch and run down the track. the r/t is seperate from your 1/4 mile run, so a bad r/t hurts you in the race, but doesn't hurt your time.

just remember: petrol weighs about 7lbs a gallon. easy wieght reduction- 1/4 tank of gas or less. and as tempting as it may be; heating up your tires in the bleach box will yeild no positive results unless you run slicks, so don't bother. lessee, what else?.... at the very most you want a quick chirp from your tires at the line, anymore and your losing time. disco the pwr steering pump for your runs. also run about 20-25psi in your tires. thats all i've got for you. good luck man.

ouch a 19.22 damn that is pretty bad. Well at least you cant get much worse :D

JacksonSi

A 2 sec. r/t....I hope I can do better than that. That means if you cut down your r/t you 1/4 would be like 17-18's. Its still cool that you ran the CRV though! :D

actually the r/t isn't a part of you're 1/4 mile time. so if you sit there for 10 minutes you'd still be able to run 15.7 or whatever. now as far as the whole race and who get's to the other end first, your r/t counts then, just not a part of the 1/4 mile time.

R/T isn't nearly as important as 60'time.

Concentrate on your 60' time. That's where it's at. :p
