OMG IM FU#$ED

So I decided to drive to tuscon this weekend for a party a buddy of mine was throwing. On the way down, I was following this SWEETASS ferrari 360 modena :eek: :D. We were cruising at 120 when my Speedometer crapped out on me. NO BIGGY, Im a racer, i know how fast I am going according to my tach, right. WRONG! My valentine 1 radar detector went off, so I slowed down. The Modena got a good lead on me, and when I thought it was safe enough to start speeding again, I down shifted to 3rd and took off. Only when I down shifted, I was still going to fast for 3rd gear. VAROOM!! DING DING DING!! Ya about blew my engine. No sooner did I switch into 5th did my check engine light come on. Now remember I was more then half way to tuscon so I continued down there. When I got there, I was running on about 1/5 oil, and my delsol was starting to overheat. I let it sit for about 5 hours and cool down. I drove back up to Phoenix about 3am. It did ok, the engine light only came on 2 times on the trip home, but now it comes on all the time. Hmmmmmmmmm Think its time for a new engine. Im looking at the B16 Sir 1 from www.hondamotorsonline.com (http://www.hondamotorsonline.com) Anyone have any comments on weather or not this is a good replacement motor? Anyone have any suggestions?
Oh I guess Im not doing anything to the body of my delsol for awhile.

hey if it makes you feal any better a freind of mine did somthing similar a few monts back. he was high and forgot his car was a stick shift, little tip, dont do 60 in first gear on a honda civic..ouch. he was saying somthing about doing a swap shortly after that happened but i think he just ended up buying a new car....the think had ,like a 120k on it anyways...so anyways dont feal so bad, at least you had a better reason then "i was high" :D good luck bro, keep us posted ;)

yeah, don't feel bad, by buddy went from 5th to 2nd (instead of 4th like he was trying to do) on the highway at 85mph in his 2 month old, brand new from the dealer gs-r. :( fortunately for him they fixed it under warrenty, I think they just felt sorry for him, but he bent like 12 out of the 16 valves, basically destroyed the head. it's on the road again, but noticably slower :(

I'd go for the swap, you'll be much happier with your ride. hondamotorsonline is a place with a good rep, and good prices. just don't forget to add in the cost of shipping and other parts like mounts to their price.

Yeah, I would swap out your motor for the b16a Sir II, that is an easy swap and would get you a good base unit to build on. I can do the motor cheaper then hondamotoronline.com, just let me know when you are serious and I can get you a better deal.
