View Full Version : Tranny oil change!
My tranny is shifting not so smootly at the moment. It is not bad but I think it could be somewhat smoother when I shift. It doesn't make any noises but I can feel it on the stick. I was wondering if changing my oil in the tranny could solve this minor problem. And if so, what kind of oil and can someone tell me where the drainplug is and where the refil plug is (position) I was looking today but it all seems a bit compact and I dont wanna fu(k some sh*t up. Any help would be great.

What do you mean by "real" gear oil?????
There is no "real" gear oil that goes into a Honda.....It's all motor oil......

either way, I would use full synthetic, my accord, used regular oil, pop the valve cover, everything is coated in a layer of crud. open my old motor, clean and shiny :D

if u were to use the 75-90 weight oil, would it do any damage to the tranny?

Well I dont know the technicallities of it,but I would think it would be too thick of an oil,and would hurt shifting performance, and even lose power cause it's more weight to throw around the gears, but that's really just a guess. :D
