The guy i bought my car from told me he had the intake & throttle body ported , how do you tell and just what does this do for me , thanks guys.

.1988 Honda CRX Si.
Thermal R&D Exhaust.

If he means the intake manifold, as opposed to the actual air intake, then this is possible. This just means that he increased the diameter of the throttle body and intake manifold openings. This can be done easily with the likes of a Dremel tool. Won't really do much for the motor if everything else is stock...

what do you mean by stock ?
what about intake and header and thermal exhaust?
does that make a diff. if the int.manifold is ported?
ive heard of other ppl doing this just not sure if it was really worth the trouble.......thanks

Well, my car is basically stock. I have ported throttlebody, intake manifold and heads. I felt a nice difference when I got it done. Maybe it will be useless if its only the throttlebody!

Just the throttle body would do nothing, Joad is right. If you are going to do this, you have to do it all. A friend of mine bought a Spoon throttle body, so in order for it to have any effect, we had to bore out the intake manifold to match to the diameter of the throttle body. BTW, that was the biggest waste of $500 ever.
