finally got my car running

if any of you remember about two months back i had questions about my car....what happened was this : the temp gauge was jumping eratically up and down then shot past the red zone then the car shut off and never started back up....problem solved...my grounding wire from motor to body had snapped and shot arcs of electricity to my ecu and fried it....a new ecu later and the crx is mobile again...super glad i didnt blow my motor which is what i originally thought happened...

Damn man,I remember that from almost when I first joined.LOL I'm glad you finally got it fixed.What happened why so long to fix it? Did it take your mechanic that long to figure it out?That must suck man :(

i was just having a rough ass time with bills so it took a while to be able to get it towed and pay for work on it...i tried some troubleshooting...new coil...82 bucks....didnt solve the prob...and a couple smaller ideas i had...none worked so i got it towed finally to a shop of this dude i met and he works on hondas in the atlanta area near me...he looked at it for a day and then said i needed an ecu...then i met this dude that night in the walmart parking lot that i asked where to get a used ecu...he told me then i went and bought it the next day drove away the next...ill get some pics eventually...its not really anything yet...but its clean....which is more than you can say for a lot of 89 si's....

Thanks to you im going to check my motor ground.
just to make sure its ok....i know a lot of ppl who upgrade to a bigger ground wire for the motor.
mabe that IS a good idea..........
