what do you mean most of the time? If it plays it sometimes then its your CD player.

Trbaccord,
Sometime I was able the CDR to play after waiting for about 10-15 minutes. But most of the time, I can't. All I get is the static-like sound from the CD player. It sounded like the CD was trying to decode something.
I am trying to confirm if the 99 model's CD player is not CDR capable.

I have a 98 Accord, shouldn't be much different and mine CD player works fine with CDR. Could be different things, either the CD player or how you "burned" the cd in the first place.

On my comnputer, I believe I have whatever program came with my comp. You can get some anywhere, but sometimes they mess up on the Buffer underrun

I know this is really late but I just came across this...Try burning your CD's at a slower speed...It is never a good idea to burn faster than 24x...Hope this helps

I have the stock head unit in my 99 Civic. No problems using cdr's. You might want to use a better CDR or burn at a slower speed. Your problem is before the cd reaches your deck.
I am assuming it plays original cd's without any troubles.
