vortech dyno

ok guys, we all now that the vortech and comptech look bad before vtec, but i just put two and two together that those bolt on kits dont move vtec. sooo, if anyone can find some dynos of comptech or vortech ap2 with vtec moved that would be awesome. i just want to see if its really that different then the rotrex setup apples to apples.

hummmm, I'll take a look, it would be interesting to see how different the blowers are on those kits. you checked s2ki already right?

here's one with a bunch of motor work, for the money spent to only have that much power I'd be upset. the boosted power looks a little smoother but it's hard to tell if they really moved VTEC or not. funny on everything else I found they only installed the bolt on kit, I didn't find any with standalones and lots of tuning. they didn't post a dyno plot but I found a guy in magazine article with 385 "whp" from church's magic dyno :D I don't know why nobody called that nucca out on forums, posting all those "flywheel HP" dyno's as "whp", so decieving to people who don't know to look for that.

yeah that cars a joke. cams do nothing:( with that crap and a forged bottom end he should be at 425whp. ugh. the stock vortech kit makes peak 280-290whp at 7psi, but vtec is kept at 6k. i might get a dyno from a dude on s2ki that has charger with aem ems. i will report back if i get info.

true, I couldn't easily find any vortech guys running a standalone. if s2ki's search feature didn't suck ballz I'm sure you could find some on there.

I have been searching as well but can't really find anything. I did though just get the new turbo magazine and there was an AP1 in there with a comptech kit. Said the owner was looking for more power and they installed a set of Toda Spec 2 Cams and retuned using the HKS F-Con he had installed and went from 303whp 192lb. ft. to 343whp and 216lb. ft.

They lowered the VTEC crossover from 6k to it looks like 5k and it just looks like a step up and matches the other power graph exactly pretty much all the way to redline.

Regardless, the graphs are un-impressive. At 6k with the new cams and lowered VTEC crossover he is still under 250whp.
