Heya all i jus bought my 01 S2. I ve previously had two civics before this but never an S2. I was just wondering if anybody had any insight on upgrades for them. I dont plan on doing anything serious (turbos, SC ; unforunately :crying: ) , but basically just I/H/E and probably a bunch of suspension stuff. I know of the major import companies Skunk2 HKS Neuspeed ETC, But if anybody had any info on HP gains , quality , etc that would be great.
Thanks Folks,

ARC full intake is suppose to yield pretty sick gains just by itself. Plus it looks seriously bad-ass underneath the hood! If I had a s2k that would be my first purchase. :)

Bolt-ons aren't really going to do you much good by themselves. If you decide you're going to dig into the motor maybe bump compression, throw in some cams then I would say do the bolt-ons and they might hold you over until you get some internal work done but if you're looking to bolt on some parts and get fast...it's just not gonna happen.

I don't have experience with any cams...my S2K is stock right now and I am going the force-fed route with it. There was a time though that I thought that I would go NA with it and I was really interested in Toda. They always made good quality stuff and their cams all make nice power. I would definitely take a look at them.

I haven't heard of anyone going to cams on an S2 and really gaining power. figure it's pretty tweaked form the factory at 100hp + per liter. Camuman just got a test pipe (no more cat) and a header, the combo is good for about 10 more HP to the wheels just about everywhere in the powerband. that with an intake and you've got more power than stock for not too much money. and it's all bolt ons so going back to stock is easy if you need to.
I personally would go turbo if I had an S2000, just because I would want more power than all-motor.

Yea, cams will make minimal gains at best but it's part of a bigger picture as with everything else. You need supporting mods to take full advantage of the cams you install. Problem is people throw some cams in and expect to see huge gains and get disappointed and bash when they don't but they fail to realize there is still alot of work left to be done before they realize the full potential of the cams they've just installed.
Going N/A is going to be costly depending on how far you're planning to go. When I thought I was going to go N/A with this car my parts total was just under 10k and that's not including having headwork done and installation of the bottom end parts. Expect your money total to rack-up very quickly.

yea i thought about turboing the car , but i seemed somewhat intimidated/scared of doing that. Im pretty much a nooblet when it comes to turbos and all my friends have had detonation problems with turbo kits. I need the car to last for awhile, so i thought turboing the car wasnt the best idea. I mean i know if its done right it can be ok, but im just being very precautious with her.
Perhaps im wrong ? What do you guys think?

Detonation is usually the cause of poor tuning or poor choices for fuel delievery. The car can live a long and happy life on boost with proper fuel delivery and tuning.
I would seriously sit back and think about what you would like from the car and then you will be able to better figure out the best route to get there.
