I've been leaning on the interceptor however I've kinda been throwing the idea of the superhawk. Anyone have any input on what would be nicer of the cruisers.

I like the interceptor for it's a little heavier and a little more stable.
I like the superhawk mainly because it's a v-twin.

Any input appreciated.

When I think about riding cross country I think cruiser but don't really think of either of those as cruisers. Sure they're not as uncomfortable as a sports bike but they still have a kind of sport look and feel to them.

When I think cruiser I think Harley Davidson soft tail, Honda VTX, Yamaha STAR...something along those lines...big, torquey, comfortable.

yeah that's the thing. There classified as "sport tourer". The vtx is nice and with a few thousand bucks can be made into a pretty damn good looking bike. However if i'm going to get a cruiser I'd almost want to go all the way to a wing. All the guys I talk to who are going on this trip say that having a radio is so awsome. Cup holders is pretty pimp too :) Anyways I don't know if i'm going to make the trip this year. Kinda want to continue saving for that fat downpayment for my house :)

Yea man, you need comfort when taking a long trip like that. Radio and cupholders are nice....don't forget, they also have ABS and GPS now as well !

honestly the most comfortable thing would be something like a honda goldwing. nice big windshield, radio and all the toys, 6 cylinder. I peronally would want something sportier, I guess it would depend on how often you stop and how long you're driving at a stretch.

yeah that's just it. THe wing would be seriously bad-ass to ride cross country. However I am not going to use it during the rest of the year for a cruiser. I almost need to like rent one.

ha ha, if you can rent one just make sure they don't charge by the mile! after a cross country trip you might as well buy it :D

if you really want a sport bike and would only go long range once a year then I wouldn't let the cross country thing determine what you pick. figure get something based on how you want to ride 90% of the time since that's what you'll be doing the most. the other 10% of the riding you just deal with it not being ideal for that kinda riding.

I know but CROSSS COUNTRY Owns all superbikes! That's what I want for 90% if the time! There is no way I wouldn't want to shoot my self the second day of running straight across the desert leaning over for the handlebars!!! AHHHHHHHH

just lay down on the tank, that's what I did when cruising the highway :) that was mad comfy, plus you're down behind the windscreen so the wind isn't blowing your head around.

LOL. I would like to see you do that for a few thousand miles! I would lay down on my previous bike on long hauls but it would only be comfortable for a hanful of miles before I had to re-adjust.

he he, the longest I ever rode my bike in one stretch was like 50 miles, just didn't have it long enough to do any road trips, sniff sniff :(

Well in Florida going 50 miles on anything is like an allll day event. Up here you can do it in 20 min. on a bike. hehehe

ha ha, you're forgetting our highways down here aren't like your girly NC highways :D ours are actually 5-6 lanes each way and banked so late at night it's just a matter of how fast do you want to go :)

and don't forget I put over 500 miles in 7 days on my 954 and I worked a 55 hour week that week too :)

OLD POST BUMP

HAHA! My superhawk was nice on longer trips, meaning like 4-5 hour rides, but after that you get the hurting tank crotch. Now the RC is good for maybe 1-2 hours....
