I know the best way to is to swap but I really want to see what my engine will do. I have 95 civic ex (d16z6)...1.6L SOHC VTEC...im thinking of rebuilding it, port and polish, etc. What yall think? Of course turbo later but lemme know what u think.

well, for that motor you could pick up a greddy turbo kit pretty cheap, then go from there. but if you want to get into the 12's, it would be a better building block to start with a swap, then boost that.

hmm, its a good idea, but you do that assuming that you know there is a certain point you'll never be able to pass due to the SOHC.

nuthings wrong wit your stock engine if u not looking for nuthing crazy.....greddy & apexi makes turbo kits for this engine....if u dont have all da money to buy a motor then build it to handle boost then go wit your stock motor....u could squeeze like 250 from this motor if done properly and not overstress or overboost it.

to me that reasonable for daily driving......like dropping off wifey at the supermarket , then bussing of a quatermile race wit ya freinds b4 picking up your lil sister :D

With its low hp and low revs on that engine, id say swap something bigger. you'll feel a whole lot better in the long run (trust me). but if u wana just be quick and not the fastst then keep it. Just stay clear of the tracks or the street raceing scene or you might get embarrassed.

I would say if you have the cash...SWAP! Always want the biggest platform for your dollar. As always, you wanna figure out how far you wanna go. You can only go so far in a SOHC. If you want to build for speed, gotta roll with the B series, or even the H. Good Luck!
