Ok in thinking of a project

would a B20 block bolt directly into an LS chassis? i mean with no special mounts no special anything just drop it right in like it were another B1?

now i really dont care for VTEC (yeah makes sense huh) and im not a big fan of super crazy high rpms so if i did this hybrid i would just put an LS head on it since the LS head seems to flow better than the stock B20 head

would there be a problem with the head bolting up to the block? would the bore of the cylinder be too small for the (cant think of the right name) part of the head where the valves are?

Alright, well I think there is WAY more to this swap then you may have realized. This will not be your run of the mill swap, bolt-up, not many mods. This is for serious builders. There are several modifications you will need to make. You should consult a quality shop before taking on such a task. There are a few people running around with that swap, so you can try and ask them if you want to give it a shot. However, you are looking at machine shop work, re-routing oil, and tapping heads. If you want a drop in swap, just go for a GSR, that will be MUCH less work. Good Luck!

is it because of the LS head instead of a VTEC head? i would think that would be easier

is it the block? i thought any b series engine was a direct swap into any other car that came with a b series

yeah, if you're not going with the VTEC head, it should be a simple swap of the blocks. just like putting a gs-r block in a B16A swap.

Either way, the swap will run you money, and since this swap is a little less common...therefore...more problems to overcome, and you are looking at paying for those problems. All in all it will be worth it. I agree, post some pics! We can do the swap for you here at the shop if you are not going to do it yourself. Let me know.

i dont think that that would be the most economical decision to make if its a striaght forward swap i should be able to do it myself with a chiltons and a hoist taking a cylinder head off shouldnt be too tough and since theres no VTEC oil line and i probably shouldnt have to change the ECU it "should" be pretty straight out

i wouldn't recommend the Chiltons. it is not near as thurough(sp?) as a FSM would be.

i know there is a guy on Ebay who sells Field Shop Manuals (by the way, thats what FSM stands for).
