I think the majority of states is 98 decibals but I could be wrong.

what type of noise measurment do you got in the U.S.
Here the police takes the noise measurment while you are doing 80 km/h on a straight, and with not much load on the car you can run almost run on free exhaust and still get it legal :D

I got a ticket for my exhaust but I went to court and fought it off. I also live in Wisconsin so you should be able to fight it off as well. I have an Airmass Thundermuff on my GS-R and when the pigs came sniffing they said it was too loud. In court, they told me I had to get 3 official documents from "major muffler distributers" ;) in my area saying my **** was street legal. I just went around town to the import shops and asked the owners if they could help me out with a letter saying that my exhaust is street legal. I got all the letters and in court, they dismissed the violation. Now I have a letter from the court stating that my exhaust is street legal in Wisconsin and I go and ****in rev hella loud and piss off the damn pigs but they can't do jack**** about it. I give them a bunch of BS and then show them the letter. I LOVE IT :D

Oh and one more thing, I also made a bunch of copies :D and gave them out to my racing crew. Now we go out and make hella noise all the time and the damn pigs can't do **** about it :D

TAKE THAT DAMN BIASED COPS

Cops do like domestics, they know mostly older guys drive them, plus they grew up in the era where muscle cars were being made. Imports got it bad from the start, then you got some ricers ****in it up for the rest of yall. need to keep them in check, and please stay revvin in wisconsin, i'd hate to start my car and shatter your glass with my cam just to show you what a real car sounds like. :D

bro dont be hattin on exhausts. i mean when people have stock motors and throw an exhahust on, thats one thing. but when you really need the exhaust for better air flow because of motor work youve done...thats another. i need an exhaust right now because i have port and polished bullfrog head work, ported intake manifold, ported throttle body, and an ecu. my car is taking in A LOT of air, and doesnt have enough space to get rid of it fast enough. right now my car is running rich because of that. so i NEED an exhaust. im not getting it for the sound, because my car sounds ****in bad ass already.

i need the exhaust for better air flow, and once i put the exhaust and header on, i can install my cam. :D

not to be mean, but you really aren't pushing THAT much air... for my 3.8L, with all of the extensive modifications done to it (or my favorite jackass ricer saying - "Chrome turbo shield, chrome up-pipe, chrome alternator, and chrome valve covers... man, thats why you got all that power!" which was posted on another board... shinies confuse the eyes, anyways) doesn't suck much air until about 2500 rpm when the PT-52 turbo spools to 17 psi... but even then we're using the stock intercooler. we're using 3" turbo back exhaust and have had NO complaints in Houston... in fact, starting the car up in a parking lot causes near-by cars to set their alarms off, even at 550 rpms (idle), the alarms will go off. anyways... you should be able to suffice with your current exhaust, but then again, bigger exhaust always helps.

sec... here is our old motor picture...:

Your probably one of those petty V8 guys who think that we put on loud exhausts to show that our car is fast and strong. Get your facts straight man, bigger exhaust means power and if it includes a loud muffler, then so be it. And to top off your "what a real car sounds like" do you own a ****ing twin turbo Lamborghini DIABLO 6.0 or a FERRARI F50??. Don't be bringing up **** about what a real car sounds like. im betting theres a lot of cars that would smoke "spaghetti". italians make some nice cars but they dont own everything, you could get somthing faster than a ferari for a fraction of the cost. and i highly doubt your ass has a diablo  as far as the exaust thing goes most of the mufflers( or fart pipes as i like to call em) sound like ****. now candymans old car, that sounded sweet. in fact preaty much any turbo charged import with a nice exaust system sounds very cool. almost like a formual 1 car  but as far on the street the only nice sounding exaust ive herd has come from domestics..... ;) :p

Whats this **** about domestic and imports fart sound competition? What about neons, cavaliers, v6 mustangs and firebirds with exhaust. I have even heard big v8's sound like farts...
Ofcourse there are lots of rice imports with fart exhausts. Now, if u have a usefull exhaust, why flame just because few dont do it right.

Any rice burner, domestic or import sounds like http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid39/pa19deb8a787d5b07bf2c92b5ae65d88b/fd05731f.gif

I'm sure your '94 DX sounds just plain bad ass. But anyways, for the dick who said he would shatter my glass and my car, i'd like for him to try, honestly. But since most on here are all talk i doubt i'll have to lose any sleep worryin bout some pos comin down here to "shatter my whole car". and yeh, around here, most ricers put exhaust one their car cause it "sounds cool". They have cold air, and exhaust, only performance mods, then another 2K in exterior mods. doesnt make any sense, those are the ones im talkin about. so chill

People, People, lets all get something straight, no matter how you look at it, you can make any **** with wheels fast. Motorcycles, Hondas, Fords, whatever. It don't matter where the car came from. Don't believe me, look at Sport Compact and read about the little korean car that dusted all of the big cars. Why I like imports better? More reliable than American cars. History states it. Anything can be made to be fast, but what I really want to know is, are you fast??? If you have any guts or skills, come up to Wisconsin and try me in drifting along mountain passes. I have a weak ass little 86 Corolla Trueno that does the 1/4 in 14.9 and that's my drifting car. If you value your life then I suggest you stay home and stick to dragging, but if not, then me and my drifting crew are waiting for the best drifters.

lol, you're from TN, that says it all right there :p

yeah, the back of the crx was so lite, I could feel it sliding around if I was hard in a turn, but it was far from a nice smokey powerslide, that's where RWD (or AWD with a lot of power) is fun.

when camuman had a new trailblazer rental, we went to the local construction site and had some rwd fun :D did about 15 donuts in a row. dang, I wish so bad we had the video camera for when we went airborne and I flew onto the dash spilling coke everywhere :D
