so my friend has got a '97 teg GS with the 1.8L.
he's looking at putting a crank shaft from a 88 lude whith a 2.0L in his motor. he's also wanting to install a "vtec killer" cam shaft with pretty good lobes. we know the crank will fit the block. here's the question: will he need diffrent pistons or rods to prevent the valves from hitting the pistons, or will he be alright?

they will not fit. the older B20A lude engines are different designs from the current B-series engine.

the CRV crank will fit. perfectly. the CRV engine has the same design as the B18B engine. all honda did to it was bore the pistons out to 2.0 liters (with some more restrictions like headers)

so will that "srtoke" the teg motor?

or is the increased dispacment just from the bore?
