Here's the deal: I'm trying to find a catalytic converter for my car. There's a place in town that can hook me up for only 65bucks but they can't place the order until August 10. Another place in town said that they can hook me up with a straight through pipe that would bolt right on to replace the cat, for 90$. Should i get the cat or the pipe? i that the pipe would be better, but i'm not sure. 90 bucks for a pipe? I don't know!!!!!!!

does the state you live in do emmisions testing? if not, no cat, proper working one does not inhibit performance on a na car but if it gets clogged it'll mess with ya so who cares and ditch it. as for boosted, get rid of it and more power. final answer, if your state does not do testing, buh bye, if they do, ahh hell, straight pipe and buh bye. :)

90 bucks seems exoensive for a straight pipe. However by getting the straight pipe you will let more air flow in you will also have to get an 02 simulator otherwise with the str8 pipe you check engine light will go on and stay on. If you get those things you'll be fine otherwise if you dont have the money just get the cat for 65. You can get a high flow race cat for around 110 with the bung mounted for the 02 sensor,so dont get the str8 pipe

i think that there's a EQ test in my state, but it only happen when the lincense plate tag are renewed. I'm gonna stop by a metal fabrication shop to see if i can get the straight pipe for cheaper. Where can I get the 02 simulator??
