ive got a 96 Accord Lx, so no Vtec. could i use a Vtec head from a 98-01 Accord? if so, what other mods would i need to do?

I wouldn't worry too much about swapping the VTEC head for the non-VTEC because the non vetec flows more air like an LS B18 engine. You should focus more on Cam and electronics tunig instead of that swap

what would you suggest as far as that goes? any particular car...maybe an Acura?

300r: your right but he could drop the v tec head on it and then throw some cams on that head. If you wanted to throw that head on you wouldneed to get the oil lines drilled for the vtec, and im not too sure about the ecu if that would make a difference..

Actually, a VTEC head flows much better than an LS head.

It can be called either, but usually in this SMALL swap case it is called a "Mini-Me" but in the larger case LS/Vtec or B20/Vtec it is called Frankenstein. Who really cares, it all just means you did some shit that makes you cooler then someone who didn't. Good Luck!

if you do do the swap then don't forget about the bottom of the block? yeah in a vtec block you have oil squirters which you don't in a nonvtec. most people forget about it when they do the swap, but it really doesn't get affectted until you start adding on horse power, so you as might as well change it while the car is in the garage. late.

That swap is not worth the money at all. Cost is high and gains are minimal, you would be much better off using that money to buy a H22 or boosting the engine you do have. The f22b2 block/ internals are strong enough to easily handle up to 10 psi daily.

i agree with cb7driver. The HP gains are minimal. I was running 9psi on my accord without problems at all..
