AEM for the fact that it totally replaces the factory ECU (but the price kills me)
Hondata would be my second choice.
Both systems have a ton of tuning potential.

I'm gonna go with the Hondata. mainly because it's the only one that's plug and play for my car. the aem one would be plug and plug too, but I'd have to convert my car to OBD I or II and get a new distributor. if I had a newer model civic, then it might be different.
but the hondata has some great features, I'm going to be getting the stage IV with the wideband O2 when I finally get it. this way I be able to tune my car and other people's cars with hondata.
the really nice thing is that with the hondata you can datalog the wideband O2 and look back later on and tune based on the A/F ratio while you were driving. then all you gotta do is go back and tweak, basically it'll let you 90% of your tuning without a dyno, which saves you money. if the aem unit is any good it'll be able to that too, but it's not an option for me.

Agreed, depends on what car, and year you have.
